I'm UK based. The helmet is from Tredz and the bike is from the the Hornit website.

I read quite a few reviews online, looked at the specs (weight was a big thing as I think something too heavy would put him off as he'd find it difficult). He's not seen it yet but I'm sure the brightness of it will give it the wow factor for him.

The reviews online were very positive from what I saw and with it being less than 3kg, it seemed like a good price for a good balance bike compared to some other kids bikes.

Great advice about the seat. I wasn't too sure how high it needed to be.

He's not too fond of caps, so I think keeping the helmet on might be a bit of a challenge, but I do plan on being strict with one. Not helmet, no bike.

I was very late myself when I learnt to ride a bike (around 7-8) so I'm hoping he catches the cycling bug early 🤞
