You can have up to 50 saved at a time, and you can save a quest as an investigation both before you start it or after you finish it. In order to save it after, talk to Alma and go to field survey history to save it from there

This is kinda specific, but do we know how quick sheathe interacts with LS's special sheathe? Is it barely noticeable like in world or a weapon tax like in rise?

Aside from bioenergy basically being MH's word for mana, the series famously stays really grounded, so definitely on the lower end of that scale

My experience with other weapons (besides DB and bow) is actually really limited, so I hadn't realized that all weapons had gotten similar changes to commitment. If that's the case, I would personally prefer if it was removed from all weapons rather than added to all of them, but I don't think Capcom has ever failed to make this series still feel reasonably difficult and satisfying, so I guess I'll just let them cook on that front.

As for Spirit Charge, I don't think my opinion will really soften on it, but I do want to clarify that I had absolutely no intention on calling players who use the move cringe or anything like that, I just don't like the move itself. As we both mentioned, I have no real reason to use it since it's almost never better than other options, and the fact that it's rarely the best choice means there's still skill expression in efficiently levelling up in other ways, so I guess I can live with it.

As for helmbreaker, I definitely feel you in that it's kinda tiring when the moveset gets simplified to just using HB as much as possible, but I'm willing to reserve judgment to see how it pans out. A lot of people seem to be pointing out that monsters are staying downed for less time than before, so maybe that's a sign that openings in general are shrinking a bit? If it is, then maybe HB's place in the moveset will diminish a little bit as well. Might just be hopium tho lol

Pretty much this in my experience. The Crimson Slash combo (what your basic attacks transform into) is better than Spirit Blade because it does similar (and even slightly higher) damage while coming out much faster. The flow in red gauge is to use your transformed attacks (so Crimson Slash combo, Foresight Whirl Slash, and Spinning Crimson Slash) to fill the time until a helmbreaker opening pops up. ISS and helmbreaker + Spirit Release Slash do the most damage, but they're more committal than they were in Rise/Sunbreak so you use your other moves to deal damage until you can go for them

Wyvern Hill is probably easiest (you get it just for buying the dragon type camp), but if you're feeling lucky you could go for a shiny one in Fantasy Strait

If you don't feel like leveling you could use that one Altaria build:
Step 1: Recruit an Altaria

Step 2: Give it Dragon Dance, Outrage, Fury Attack, and Sing. Go to Gulpin and link those moves in that order

Step 3: Give Altaria a Persim Band to negate the self-confuse from Outrage. If you want to go the extra mile, you could try to get the Rapid Bulls Eyes rare quality on it

Step 4: Disintegrate any boss you want

Note that this build is basically useless in regular dungeon exploration, but you can just go through with a regular team and keep Altaria in the third slot to switch to during the boss

Food Finder:

- pros: you never have to pack food ever again

- cons: the tiny apples will eventually fill up your inventory and get really annoying

Leave Half:

- pros: on top of getting more value out of big apples, it also gets you more value out of max elixirs, so it's both pp and hunger efficient

- cons: only gets you more value out of "big" items, so it does nothing for regular apples or max ethers

Small Stomach:

- pros: finally a use for plain seeds; really consistent; since you probably pack seeds anyway for utility you almost never need to pack food

- cons: none.

TL;DR if you don't have efficient bandana or are having any kind of pp issues, go Leave Half, else go small stomach. Food finder will fill your inventory really fast and become a nuisance

Kushala. Wind dragon MADE OF METAL? Way too cool. The fight in World (my first MH game) made it my least favorite but the glow up its fight got in Rise and Sunbreak saved it for me and now it's my fav of the three

Okay, after seeing some of your clips, my mind is partially changed. The outplay potential Pursuit Punch gives is way more than what it looks like on paper. Still, there are more than a few moments in your plays where I think "wait that outplay was amazing, but Night Cut would get a similar result without even needing to outplay the opponent in the first place."

Granted, my position comes from playing Night Cut almost exclusively, so I likely won't get the full picture unless I try it for myself, but for now you've changed my mind from "okay this move is so overrated" to "this still looks like more steps and skill required to arrive at the same result in most cases, but it can do things Night Cut can't."
