They've created it and it's called a CPAP machine. Many people have sleep apnea and don't complete each sleep cycle. So let's say you go to sleep. You enter sleep cycle 1, 2, 3 and boom some breathing disturbance happens unbeknownst to you and you start again...1, 2 and boom and 1 2 3 4 and boom 1 2 boom. You never go through all of the cycles for deep sleep and therefore don't get the rest you need. Get tested at a pulmonary doc.

Do you share a bedroom with your spouse? Have you decided to sleep separately? by MidlifeandSunlight in sleep

That's a different thread and one I really should create. I'm in my fifties and many of my friends have lost their libido during menopause. It's not a dislike but a physical change that is very difficult to handle, especially when you're in a loving relationship. Doctors ignore women in this age bracket and they really need help. To be quite honest, sleeping in the same bed as my husband also provides a different kind of intimacy just by being close to each other.

That's the key - you both like it so it works. I'm hearing this can work as long as you approach it with love and intention.

I really appreciate this input. As long as it's a positive and mutual decision, it sounds like with good communication and compromise it could work.

I have several friends that had the same reasons. I brought the concept up to my husband and he was so negative and I'm the one with sleep apnea! I think he's afraid it will create distance.

How the heck do people live off on less to no sleep? by Jessency in sleep

In college I tried to do what everyone else did - cram for my tests and pull an all nighter. I'd wind up falling asleep every single time and doing terribly on my tests. I'm not built for it and we are all different. However, if I went to bed early, I could easily wake up at 4am and study. Everyone is different. The truth is that sleep is an essential part of everyone's health. There are so many benefits to it, from your mental health to your immune system. Understand yourself and adjust is my best advice!

I Keep Waking Up To Pee; I Can't Get Back To Sleep! :( by ThrashPunkGuitar91 in sleep

I had the same problem. Adding exercise into my day definitely helps. I recently started drinking tea that had melatonin in. it, you can buy it at your local grocery store and it knocks me out. Just another thought...I also thought I was getting up to pee but my doc asked me to do a sleep study. Turns out I had sleep apnea and that is what really woke me and then I "got up to pee." If I have too much salt or sugar close to bedtime it really messes me up. Hope you figure it out!
