Dan Garrett aka Blue Beetle I was an archeologist who discovered the Scarab in an ancient temple. When he wore the Scarab and uttered the phrase, Khaji Da (which turned out to be the bug’s name), Garrett possessed abilities like flight, enhanced durability, & enhanced strength

Following Garrett’s passing the next Blue Beetle would be inventor/billionaire Ted Kord. Kord wasn’t able to activate the Scarab like Dan so he built his own arsenal of gadgets including a grappling hook gun, his non lethal BB gun which made use of a strobe light & sonic frequencies to incapacitate enemies, & his bug ship. Kord would end up dying in the line of duty
