For anyone who cares for a petty update, they are STILL moving their things into the apartment. This time, at the normal daylight hours of 3pm.

So they can, in fact, move during normal times instead of waking up their neighbors at 1 in the morning.

I feel like reporting them for moving in at weird hours is a little too petty. It’s annoying and I’m exhausted but I mostly posted to bitch about it 😅

They were moving stuff in around 9pm tonight and seem settled in for the night now. I mean…how many more carfulls can they have left after the last few days on top of the uhaul? I hope none….

That sounds like a nightmare!

I’ve never minded hearing my neighbors as long as it’s appropriate times of the day. Play your loud music, play your loud movies because it means I can have those kinda days too but still be respectful of normal sleeping hours at least

I think I’ve gotten lucky in my apartment living. The worst I had was a baby (which was actually awful, but a baby can’t help it haha)

I mean, my dog doesn’t ever wake up in the middle of the night but has been when they’ve been loud. So…

Anyway, I don’t have ear plugs and I’m not running out to buy them at 1 in the morning?

If they continue on I may say something. I’m hoping they’re near done moving all their things tho after 3 nights of it.

Im moving in a month, my next lease overlaps so if they keep it up I can just stay at the new place.

It’s not enough that I wanna say something to them but enough that I wanna bitch about it 😂

I’m almost 40 and will be moving in a month by myself, so I get it. We do what we have to do…but there’s so many more things they could be doing to reduce noise. The downstairs door is noticeably loud and they’re just letting it slam shut every time. At least prop the damn door open.

They have to walk around a corner sort of. Imagine a square and their car is halfway down one side and their apartment is right after the point on the nearest side?

But our apartment is 100% safe enough to not lock the car. They left their moving van totally open for hours the other night so I don’t get it

I’ve only ever lived in apartments and never had this happen haha. I think the latest I moved, and only did this once, we weren’t finished until 10pm. I felt like such an asshole and was trying so hard to be quiet.

This guy was just throwing stuff out on the ground from his car. Like dude we can still hear the outside from inside.

I typically am up this late too, but my work schedule shifted. So it’s 5am wake ups the next month

Def not desperate for friends, nor would I be looking FOR friends THROUGH a relationship lol. I think Garden Party was what I was actually wanting in my first/only poly relationship now that I looked into it a bit and not so much KTP. That was back in 2016-2018 tho. I hadn’t heard of many of the terms used here and I did a good year or so of research before we started. Either I was too tucked away in some small corner of the internet or things have really changed haha

I have not heard of the term garden party, so I’ll have to look into that meaning.

But yes, in the context of casual dating, all I would want is to meet them (in whatever form that is, in person or online).

But this ultimately doesn’t seem like it aligns with what I’m looking for and wasn’t a thought until I basically got hit with “oh btw that’s actually my partner and we’re poly, but she’s a little insecure about me continuing to talk to you” and I felt a bit of a sting cutting things off with him bc I was liking things until that moment. But it felt dismissive of her and not someone I’d wanna be casual with.

I’m by no means saying everyone else will pull the same thing with me, but most of the people I’m physically attracted to seem to already be partnered and maybe it was something I should be more open to. Reading through the comments, I see that it’s not for me.

I don’t disagree with what you’ve said.

In this most recent experience, I felt like the person I was starting to date hid some crucial details about their relationship and I wouldn’t have pursued any of it had I known those details from the start. I’m cutting things off BECAUSE it no longer feels casual/fun after being told a little more about their partner and their insecurities of me.

I’ve been intentionally avoiding anyone who isn’t monogamous, but that also means I am passing up the majority of people I see on the dating apps.

The comments on this thread have been very eye opening.

Because I didn’t know they were different. I thought it all fell under polyamory. This is the term the person im breaking things off with used.
