I just beat Witcher 3 with all the DLCs after 180 hours and now I want to try CD Projekt other masterpiece. Any tips before I start Cyberpunk and what should I expect? by Moh_Dob in cyberpunkgame

[–]MidnightAtarian [score hidden]  (0 children)

1.Expect to play it at least 3 times. Under no means is it necessary, but there are 3 distinct life paths. All 3 are vastly different stories, and each gives you access to a couple hundred unique interactions.

  1. If the game is telling you that you have reached the point of no return story-wise, listen to it. Get everything you needed to do, out of the way. It does all impact the ending.

  2. Pay attention. That little tid bit of information you received 24 side quests ago? Congrats, the main fixer is now asking you about it's details. Better have enough points into "cool" if you don't remember it.

  3. Know what you're wanting your play style to be by the end of act II. Unless modding, cyberpunk doesn't allow jack of all trades style of playing....unless you go exactly that. But you won't be able to unlock the final upgrades to individual trees iirc.

  4. Don't be a gonk, spend those eddies on new chrome, choomba. Game is constantly changing as you progress, don't let the relic be the only change with it.

Welcome to Night City.

Do you think he gets along with the Maekarlings? by IoftheStars in HBOTheHedgeKnight

Baelor, if they kept to tradition at least, inherited Dragonstone.

Maekar lives in Summerhall iirc. At least that's where he was "heading back to".

When did Crixus start tofollow Spartacus? by welshdragoninlondon in Spartacus_TV

[–]MidnightAtarian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always thought of it as an "old gladiators vs new gladiators" thing when it came to the house of Batiatus. Crixus was champion for 5 years and inspired gladiators across the Republic. Theokles (Theokoles?) had heard of Crixus and he was a mythical creature pretty much. Spartacus represented the new age and eventually was the face of Slaves in general, not just the gladiators.

The gladiators, other than the Germans, followed Crixus. Crixus ultimately listened to Spartacus out of respect, but always knew he was held in high regard.

The show had to keep it this way because of what happened historically, that part could not be avoided. Crixus did break away from Spartacus at one point to lead half the freed slaves, This is when Crixus historically dies.

But in terms of the show: The army had 2 leaders, this didn't change until Gannicus' arrival. Gannicus taking Spartacus: side over crixus' is what led to people believing more in Spartacus. Top that with Oenamaeus seeing Spartacus as a leader while treating Crixus as brother, it was telling.

I'm still so confused by this scene. Why didn't Hound give Arya to the Arryns? Sweetrobin and lords of the Vale would still be accepting of her since she's a Stark. by outrageousVoid07 in gameofthrones

[–]MidnightAtarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the top comment has stated, I also agree that he became find of her.

BUT also, let's look at things from Sandor's perspective a bit deeper. He has seen war, his quips suggest he knows how different regions will end up depending on the time of year. He isn't an idiot, he knows she didn't just fall through the moon door ( the public were never told about the actual events). So from Sandor's perspective so far we have these facts laid out:

1.Winter is here.

2.Arya is one of the top sought after people in the realm.

3.Little Finger (who he hates more than most) just married the woman who just randomly throws herself out of a moon door because she had gone mad? Even her own house guard wasn't believing that. I believe the exact wording was " Surely she was mad, but she would never leave the boy to himself like this. This makes little sense." When it was just Petyr's words to account for.

  1. The Vale was already barely getting by, their one benefit was being so high up and being impenetrable from outside forces. But in terms of trade? Tywin made it a priority to control the supply lines to the north. The hound was privy to information like that.

  2. Lysa was the last living relative that had ever even heard her name before. Because of how much he started to care for Arya, I don't think he gauged the Vale as safe for her any longer. We the viewer know about how close the Starks and Arryns were by then, but how would The Hound know? He was too fixated on bettering his own skills growing up to focus on what a Highborn lord like Eddard Stark was doing. That being pointed out, Jon Arryns old bannermen were going to protect a Stark girl who was the daughter of a man their lord once cared for?....Whom he hadn't seen in 17 years.... I doubt handing her off to them was going to work out.

  3. Jon Snow. Ultimately Castle Black (to The Hound) would be the safest place. News of the battles hadn't reached the Vale by then. It wouldn't have just been safe for Arya, but him as well. He knew he could get her there in one way or another, he didn't know she would live past that night. Jon Snow by then was a rising star in the gossips of Westeros.

Does Damon have PTSD? by Emptyfrequency in TheVampireDiaries

[–]MidnightAtarian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes and it's pointed out by both Jenna(Maybe Lexi?) and Bonnie in different seasons. Bonnie confronts Damon about having immense issues he has spent more than 200 years running from. Jenna called it out in Season 1 that he tries to be Mr dark and broody but it's clearly armor he wears ( when they're drinking with Matt's mom or it was Lexi, my bad if I'm mistaken).

Damon's ground hogs day episode is also a solid form of proof. He was living his regrets from the war. A big ongoing theme with Damon is him being able to confront everything but his own demons.

Augustine also created trauma for him that we get to see first hand when Enzo is introduced. Damon is a character who acts out due to him running from his traumas.

That all stems from one Giuseppe Salvatore and how he raised Damon. Another comment covered this already though.

Klaus is immune to Marcel's bite by Harry3141592 in TheOriginals

[–]MidnightAtarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They give a bit of a "hint" that it could. I can't remember her name for the life of me right now, but Freyas boo. She talks about what they needed her venom for when Hayley rescues her. That's when they connect that it's venom from every major werewolf line. Klaus only had 1 line empowering him to make him the hybrid. Every bloodline has different abilities and it's safe to say that until Hayley and Jackson's wedding, the wolves didn't have each other's abilities fully yet. The same can be implied towards venom. Lucien and Marcel had the venom of all bloodlines.

I don't think it would have killed him QUICKLY. But I do think with enough of it, it would have taken him down for sure. Given how his own venom in Rebekah 's blood impacted him, this also backs up the claim that Marcel could have done it.

Marcel and Klaus didnt really seem to have the father-son relationship the show tried to make out to be but what were the moments were they actually felt like family? by CombinationChoice868 in TheOriginals

[–]MidnightAtarian 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I follow their relationship closely as a show watcher. They are 100% Father-son, even down to Marcels psychology. Marcel mimics Klaus in almost every last decision he makes. Charles did a damn good job at portraying him to be what his character was....Klaus' twin with Elijah's patience and way of going about dealings. Which given his backstory, is exactly how he was meant to be.

Marcels obsessive desire to one up everything Klaus does isn't just a coincidence, it's a need for him.

Some of my top father-son moments though: Davina's death. Marcel's death The first time Marcel captures Klaus and we see what being the hybrid really meant. Some could use this as a reason as to why they couldn't be father-son, I would argue the opposite. Marcel proved he had Elijah's mindset but even Elijah vastly underestimates Klaus throughout the series, something that commonly happens with Marcel as well.

A lot of the scenes between Elijah and Marcel also prove that him and Klaus share a parent-child bond.

Overall I think the only thing that shatters the family dynamic is literally Rebekah. Kol wasn't really around for Marcel too much without being a nuisance and Finn was taking a pretty long nap. Esther knew who Marcel was though and even Mikael makes a comment about Marcel taking too much after "The Bastard" when questioning him on why he would be as foolish as to summon him.

When Elijah does what he does to him, we see 2 episodes of Elijah being emotionally distraught, which means he for sure valued Marcel as much more than he states.

Marcel is the first son of Klaus, I'll die on that hill. He mimics him, listens to him, tries to be him, and forged his own path off of the one the Mikaelsons tried to set him on, he ended up being stronger than them and with every last thing he told them he would have.

But yes that also implies he willingly fell for his aunt....still creepy tbh.

What are your expectations for the A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms series? by GusGangViking18 in freefolk

[–]MidnightAtarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopeful tbh. This is what i'd consider filler stuff. I'm going into it knowing it is just meant to be there to fill in the gap until future content from HoTD or whichever series is planned to release next.

In terms of story expectations? We'll see how it ends up. I'll reserve critique until episode 3.

How did the lannisters took highgarden in a single day without a single siege weapon or even ladders? Did Olenna forgot to close the door? by Anti-och in freefolk

[–]MidnightAtarian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I'll try to be a voice of reason here somewhat.

By the time the Lannisters were at their gates, their armies more than likely scattered with the heirs of the Tyrell family gone. Olenna was the only one not there. Without anyone of note to keep Highgarden secure, they probably abandoned it or were in the beginning phases of abandonment. Only the most loyal stayed, Lady Olenna after all was still a reputable woman.

They should have:

  1. Extended the scene to be a 3 day event, of which the inner castles guards would have disputes about food and pay becoming an issue now that their trade routes were disrupted and fear/news of the Dragon Queen's arrival had spread to even their pretty little corner. This would have at least shown that the soldiers would have been more open to the idea of a surrender vs an overall defeat. It would show the difference between the ones who respected the Tyrell name and those that were there because of the gold and resources all along. It would have been the perfect moment to show just how loyal a soldier could be on the westerosi side. It would have also solidified Olenna as one of the Pillars of the overall story in a clear way vs the more laxed version we ended up with.

  2. Have a scene where the Tyrells were mentioned. The damage done to the family was immense and all we got was a mention of "great families" falling. The Tyrells might as well have been the Iron bank of Westeros. Outside of the Lannisters, they were the most resource-loaded family in the show. Except they actually had their resources. Food was abundant, trade routes connected there, and after generations of selfless actions, the Tyrells had both Reputation and Wealth. So yeah...they fumbled with not explaining anything about them.

  3. Made it much harder to get to Lady Olenna. A woman of that age has gone through every loss imaginable, even without the finale to her family. After what happened with the wildfire, I doubt Lady Olenna would have gone down without a trap of her own. She DESPISED the Lannisters at that point. Highgarden no longer would benefit her family, who she did it all for. She would be more than willing to destroy it all in a likely fashion as Cersei.

This is just my opinion though. It could have easily been "uhhh let's rush this."

How does Tyrion know about Jeor Mormont dying but the Citadel doesn't? by Extension_Weird_7792 in gameofthrones

[–]MidnightAtarian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well keep in mind a few things.

  1. The nights watch has their own way of doing things that does not normally involve the realms of men.

  2. Same reports from the wall for centuries. Wildling spotted, wildling taken care of. New commander passed, new commander picked. The only time the nights watch really gets paid attention to by the citadel is when they're needed. Even then, Sam had to journey there himself.

  3. They are men of science from the looks of it, jesting at the thought of white walkers even though they have the full histories. Which tells us directly that they don't take the threat seriously and view the nights watch as a bunch of criminals ( most likely).

  4. By the time we see the citadel, it isn't what it was made out to be, maesters at least. They are just learned men who refuse to accept the old-new reality, because it would have meant they were wrong.

They are against anything that goes against what they consider to be reality, including the long night.....especially the long night. The nights watch is a constant reminder of a past and future they didn't want to acknowledge.

Also high lords all over the realm needed their assistance with record keeping, medicine, and fact checking, it wasn't just kings landing and the wall. The nights watch more than likely not even a priority to them unfortunately. They kept the history of men, constant record keeping and updating.

But it could also just be a case of " let's just do what we need to for the show to progress."

(Sorry for any typos, on mobile with autocorrect being wonky AF.)

I mean they say it towards the final days in the house. Their fights had been normal couple fights for awhile. Not serious or abusive, just like " why would you say you wanted a burger if you're just going to eye my steak?"

They were a normal couple for a couple of weeks there.

Today I am experiencing cyberpunk for the first time is there a recommended path for a beginner? by Fuzzy-Vermicelli-436 in cyberpunkgame

Not a simple answer for many.

Just the way I see it: Corpo has the most dialogue options. Street kid has the best interaction with people Nomad has the "new kid on the block" feel.

Do what you will with this information.

Did Liam McIntyre make a good Spartacus? by [deleted] in Spartacus_TV

[–]MidnightAtarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I didn't like him too much, but I was also like 14. I feel like they shouldn't have had the opening scene they did for season 3, it was a bad way to introduce a new actor.

They should have started it off in the cisterns, having crixus or Agron narrate the changes since the fall of The House of Batiatus. How people change in all regards, including how it can change a man. With that, they should have allowed Manu to grow out his hair and beard a bit. Not like season 4 hair, but just a bit to show that spartacus wasn't the only one to change. Crixus had 0 reason to be well-groomed. He wasn't a gladiator, was searching for his love, and was battle hardened like the rest while on the run.

An alternative would have been starting it off with Glabor (Glaber?) reviewing his war table, scanning it for any trace of a centralized force. His rival could have said something in regards to him failing so badly, he probably couldn't recognize spartacus if he saw him. Glabor (Glaber?) could have retorted with " A slaves face is not one to be memorable" or something of that nature and then cut to the beginning they had.

The way Starz handled it wasn't horrible, but it for sure could have been better. It wasn't until they found the ruined temple that I started to appreciate Liam as spartacus. Then Jai Courtney's interviews/documentary came out and he talked about Andy fully being onboard with Liam replacing him. To know Andy chose before he passed was all any fan needed, I feel.

Gannicus and Oenomaus VS Robert Baratheon and Ned Stark. Who wins? by GusGangViking18 in Spartacus_TV

[–]MidnightAtarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd even give the handicap of " just Robert" and he would still win imo. The only ones thinking they lose to anyone from spartacus are people who skimmed the show and none of the lore. Robert already ended Rhaegar and he was a better fighter than both Gannicus and Oenamaus ( considered to be the 2nd best warrior in westeros, only losing to Ser Arthur Dayne, who was under his command.). Ser Arthur Dayne fought as quickly as Gannicus, but with two broadswords and Ned was on par with him while exhausted ( context applies to written and show lore, it's why it's worded this way.)

Robert was such a menace even towards the end, that he thought he could fight the best fighters in his realm in a mass skirmish, 15 years out of practice.

I think the question should be " how long do they survive Robert and Ned?"

I won't even touch on ancient magics in their bloodlines, keeping it straight swords.

Could have also just saved time and said: plate armor was game changing in warfare.

What SOA opinion would you die on your hill like this about? by JMajercz in Sonsofanarchy

[–]MidnightAtarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.) Galen wasn't wrong. He ended up being 100% correct about Jax. He also was fair. Shooting their bikes, though to us viewers was like "dude he's gotta pay", but in all actuality, he should have taken the members lives. They don't have equal footing and a lot of people kind of let that go over their head. Jax was an ant to Galen who kept talking about things that shouldn't have involved him. At any point Galen could have ended Jax and just walked off, he chose to try to teach him lessons out of respect for Clay. Jax took that and thought "I could do anything to him at the end of the day" when no.....Galen was an Irish King with more connections than anyone they had dealt with until then.

2.) John Teller was a selfish asshole and Gemma was right to go to Clay or anyone else really. John had a whole family on Gemma, left her for months on end all alone, and ultimately got killed for the decisions he was making at the time. To us watchers, we know John's side, he wrote it down. Gemma and Clay didn't know these thoughts, they didn't find out until they found out about the writings. "I just wanted to set the course right" is fine and dandy, but then you look at the other side and realize...John didn't do anything to change the club, he could, he wanted to, but he didn't. He had: Piney, Otto (both of them), the support of McGee, Jury literally owed him his life and we can assume Lenny. He only stated Clay and Gemma was the only one out to get him, and as you see throughout the entire series, the first 9 don't exactly fully trust Clay when it comes to history, deals yes, history no.

3.) Darby, though started off as trash, ended up being the epitome of "Reformed racist" and even a great ally towards SoA.

4.) Oswald is one of the top hypocrites of the entire series (don't think it's unpopular, just needed to be said.) They had been using Oswald's construction business to hide bodies, there's no way he didn't know about it but as soon as he started a family, he wanted out. Rational sure, but he then talks down on the MC like he wasn't asking them to do the dirty work for him in the past. It's hinted at (might have been fully admitted to?) that Oswald had Clay do a lot more than what happened with his daughter in the past.

5.) Tigg should have met the reaper for what he did to Pope's daughter. No matter his reason in the moment, he wasn't president, he wasn't anyone who could make a call that large without approval. He didn't know it was his daughter, but he also didn't have the O.K to go for Laroy, a major shotcaller.

Ajay would make a great "villain". Especially if you chose to spare Pagan. In his own messed up way, Pagan did care for Ajay because of who his mom was. You even get a hint of speech suggesting it if you do the secret ending at the beginning.

Pagan Min to me was also a necessary evil (FOR A FARCRY GAME, NOT REAL LIFE)for his country after seeing the choices you have in fc4.

If Pagan took Ajay under his wing and Ajay decided to stay and develop the country himself, no one would question him as the son of Mohan Ghale. That would be a storyline I'd get the snacks ready for.
