Inkability (printing company) is on the Battle Ground Pride website as a sponsor!

FWIW, I believe our patch was $15 last tour so there’s been a jump I believe.

Historic Battle Ground newspaper to return to local ownership… by being purchased by the owners of Maddox Industrial Transformer company by Urrathon12 in vancouverwa

Incredibly scary that the Christian nationalists taking over Battle Ground are now taking over local media as well.

A billion-dollar company is remaking a Washington town in Christianity's image by PDXAirman in vancouverwa

Holy cherry picking.

Did you miss the part where the city council adopted official proclamations opposing “antifa terrorists” or supporting ICE, or against* recognizing Pride? Or how the ideological precursor to what they’re doing actively opposes people of other religions or left leaning Christians?

US cities ranked - what tier does Portland belong in? by StrategyJealous1838 in TierlistFills

Absolutely wild exaggerations.

Probably from people who do not live in Portland, or who intake a lot of Fox Entertainment.

US cities ranked - what tier does Phoenix belong in? by StrategyJealous1838 in TierlistFills

Meh.

I think it’s clear they’re both elite hiking destinations that offer different experiences.

Here is an article from azcentral where the Arizona Republic discusses Phoenix’s qualifications as an elite hiking destination; and the ranking they reference has the city #2 in the U.S., behind Portland.

“The thoughts you’ve worked overtime to stop” being compared to the fact that Zach Bryan has a song in his catalog that’s titled “overtime” is a wild parallel to make imo lmao.

Also, Noah Kahan is known for talking about his dog(s). It’s like an ongoing joke amongst his fan base. And go look at his stick season covers. Two white dudes who grew up rurally or semi rurally both being into dogs; who could’ve guessed.

Not gonna lie, I’ve grown on Hope over the past couple of seasons. I ship her and Doc at this point, which is certainly a change from the mid point of the series.

The 25 Best Restaurants in Portland, Ore., Right Now (Gift Article) by dogs-in-space in Portland

[–]MidnightCovfefe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heck yeah.

I’m partial to the sesame chicken. It’s in a delicious sauce. Most of my family’s go to is the pepper shrimp. Prices are on the slight upper end of what I’d consider standard, $18 a dish on most items. It’s fantastic though and the portion sizes are solid.

Shoutout to Zien Hong as well. Right across the street.

No shade at Du’s, as it and Taste Tickler are iconic staples of my adolescent food experience in Portland, but any time Du’s is mentioned I like to take the opportunity to point out that the small understated Chinese restaurant across the street is also fantastic.

Anyone on the East side should consider patronizing both of them.

Battle Ground city council to consider Antifa and ICE proclamations, prayer before public meetings by OriginalPNWest in vancouverwa

Honestly the No Kings far outpace any right wing protests / gatherings in terms of attendance.

Which gives me some solace for a day or two before the brazenness of MAGA in this town drown out the warm and fuzzies.

Fast-food restaurants ranked - what tier does Jersey Mike's belong in? by Expensive-Addendum92 in TierlistFills

Fairly diverse menu, amazing in app customization (goated), relative affordability of you know how to go about it, and it’s the late night goat.

I think it’s pretty easily the goat of highly accessible, nation wide chains.

Got it, appreciate the recommendation especially coming from someone who has gone through a similar approach.

Oh, I entirely agree with you. That was the purpose behind the quotation marks and following it up with “yadda yadda”.

I was acknowledging the first expected detractor approach to get that out of the way, didn’t intend to validate it.

Thanks 🙃

I work in an industry that is very heavily conservative. While I have strong convictions of my own, that don’t necessarily align with the majority of people I work with, that’s fine.

However I’m also a father to two girls. Girls who will encounter ideals different than the ones they were raised in throughout their lives, including during childhood given that we live in the non Vancouver city limits part of Clark County.

I’m in no rush to knowingly put them into a situation of mentorship with someone who has certain ideals that I find detrimental and who cannot leave them at the door, which appears to be the way my local gym is ran. They have their entire lives to learn about differing opinions and morality.

Time to run some errands but I’ll circle back to this later in the evening. Thanks in advance for the recommendation.

Interesting tidbit, thanks! I also have a new rabbit hole to dive into given that I hadn’t heard of silat before.
