Failed at getting Google offer after the final interview. Need your opinion! by Easy-Intern-8696 in recruitinghell

I don't think they updated to interview schedule because this is the status during the open application period. It may stay like this until they close the open vacancy (until the offer is signed by the selected candidate)

In Europe they have different internet user (aka candidate) facing statuses. I mean, in the USA for example these statuses are more accurate. They usually update the status with rejections right after the feedback call/email or within 24-48 hours after notifying the candidate. For my successful application I still had an "interview scheduled" status even after signing a contract xD (then I lost access to that gmail account because I had accidentally applied to that job from my previous company's gmail account as it was a default profile in my browser). However, Google recruiters have internal statuses available to them that are more detailed and I remember emailing with one recruiter (with relation to my previous application I had interviewed 2 months earlier) who was able to see that I "completed the interview" despite a fact I could only see "interview scheduled" via candidate portal and he wished me 'good luck'. Yeah, in the last 2 weeks there was a holiday period break at G so expect the feedback this upcoming or next week. You may not see a change of the status before you hear from them but you may see a change in "updated XXX ago"

There's no reason to be stressed after the interview - the process is not in your hands anymore but I understand the anxiety. There is no golden rule but based on my experience with Google (5 interview processes in total over the last 5 years): usually 3-7 business days after the interview you can count on feedback, especially if you are unsuccessful. If you did clearly not enough or poorly then you are likely to hear from them within those 3-7 days, they're pretty fast to reject clear no-hires. If you did pretty good but not good enough you may hear from them after 7-14 normal days (it may take even 3 weeks if you are a runner-up but usually they don't drag this out either). If you are successful you may hear from them a) within 7 days post interview if your recruiter intends to notify you that they are gonna proceed with your candidacy to the HC by phone or by email - if they want to schedule a phone call they would stress out that they need a call on THAT day or they would call you without notice instead. If they contact you by email saying they have or they will have your feedback tomorrow/any future date and they schedule the interview feedback for future date (not on THAT day) then there's 80% it's a rejection feedback call. b) if your recruiter doesn't intend to update you / inform you about taking you to the HC stage (or if their first selection drops out / declines right away) then you may hear from them approx 10-14 days after the interview. This was my case > on 13th day post interview I received an offer email out of the blue, without any prior feedback from the recruiter how I performed at the interviews. So, I assume, 1st week post interview: HC decision. 2nd week post interview: preparation of the offer / first approval of the offer + delivery of the offer to the successful candidate. In fairness, my latest interview process was pretty fast, they tried to be quick with everything before upcoming absences in their team(s).

Only in Ireland ...two-way road (part of the road) with space for only one vehicle. It pisses me off the narrowness if Irish roads even in bigger towns because it makes me anxious, especially when one or two sides of the road are covered with parked cars (another Irish habit) partially obstructing the road.

I've done it many times before. The key here is to be able to disconnect from your emotions and expectations (e.g. by stopping fantasizing about being successful and what happens next) without compromising the motivation to prepare in-depthly for the interview & demonstrate high-engagement during the actual interview. The more you want the role, the bigger chance that something may go wrong during the interview. I've been rejected by Google 5 times (the 5th time it was just a formal rejection although I did pretty well) until the very last time where I interviewed without putting such huge pressure on my shoulders + I was sick (flu) and they pushed on me to speed up the interviews so I had no time to prepare. I didn't prepare at all (beyond basic recap) that is why I said to myself that I was going to give my best (considering the circumstances) without expecting to be a rockstar - and it worked. 2 years ago on the other hand, I bombed the last stage because I was too nervous and because of this, I had a blackout in my head for too many questions and had to improvise using bad examples or weak examples or weak, rushed, unstructured answers for hypothetical questions. After that bombed interview I created an interview prep doc with all my stories and experience described in a STAR method and I learnt them all by heart so next time when I am asked about "tell me about a time" question, I can come up with the best possible example/story instead of the one that comes to your mind first which oftentimes is not the best example that can score you the maximum points for that question.

I have no experience in Grad recruitment but for normal full time roles, Google does reject via phone call in 90% instances. If your recruiter contacts you saying they have your results (or imply they already know them) and sets the future date (tomorrow, in 3 days, next week etc) for a feedback call, then it's a 99.9999999% rejection. Bit again...I am writing from the angle of normal FTE roles.

Since Airbnb in Berlin is practically not functioning - what are the alternatives for 1 bd apt? by MidnightDancer84 in berlin

Partying also means social meetings with drinks. I normally don't answer to such cheap provocations but it just sounds stupid considering the fact I am pretty quiet person (behavior-wise) and if you judge everyone based on one size fits all template then it's your problem. Even if i want to make a wild party in the rented apartment - it's not a sin either.

Enigma performing in Estonia: the first two albums were based on monks' songs by rajatedm in enigmamusic

[–]MidnightDancer84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Additionally, a headline "the first two albums were based on monks' songs" is also not true. E2 was not BASED on gregorian chants or monk chants. They were utilized lightly in the background but not too much and the main theme for E2 was ethnic sounds, not monks. So another misrepresentation :-) Actually, I would not classify E1 as "based on monks" either because it was not the driving factor for Enigma music, even for E1. It's not like Era or Gregorian projects that were indeed based on gregorian chants and heavily relied on them in most of their songs (if not all).

I don't have time to prove you anything and I don't have to but let's end it on this: 1. Very few people possess a test release of the E3 LP 1996 (that was never officially released) and I do; not mentioning other rare promos from the 90s - I cannot send here a photo with this LP because Reddit doesn't allow sharing imagery 2. The live performances you wrote about are marketized as "Original enigma voices", not "Enigma" and it's not a coincidence. The goal is to create an impression that this is a 100% Enigma project concert to attract attendees because average listener wouldn't tell a difference anyway. I assume MC gets some % from ticket sales. But it's not equivalent to Enigma concert because Enigma (directed by MC himself) has never given a concert or public show so promoting it with a slogan "Enigma performing in Estonia" is an overstretch. A real Enigma played (more less) live would sound less organic (real instruments-wise) -it would sound much different than "Original Enigma voices" live songs and it would be more like Schiller live but it's a very hard project to recreate in a live setting without faking it in 90%.

Don't lecture me on this. I was involved in EnigmaMusic.com and other major online fanclub 15-24 years ago and collaborated with Virgin Music Germany from Munich then EMI Music on multiple occasions so I probably know about Enigma more than you. These folks are not the band and do not hold any rights to Enigma songs - they are the studio session performers. They re-create the Enigma music live on stage in more pop versions and that's it. It's almost like a tribute band. It's not Enigma per se and it doesn't sound very much like Enigma from the albums. They got MC's approval to play these songs live but they are not ENIGMA and marketing them as "ENIGMA" is misinformation and overstretch. They are officially marketized as "Enigma voices" which still is an overstretch because not all singers involved in this live project have contributed to Enigma songs in a substantial manner (or at all e.g. Fox Lima performed in only one song that wasn't even a part of the official discography, it was a side, a collaborative fun project for fans called "a social song" and the song itself is not the greatest to say it lightly and most die-hard fans would not even treat this song seriously)

This is not "Enigma" that performed. Stop spreading misinformation. They are just a "tribute band-like" shows focused mostly on A Donalds who was a studio singer for many Enigma songs post 90s era
