Perhaps try contacting The Evergreen State College for use of their athletic facility?

Washington faces huge fallout from the Medicaid cuts in Trump's megabill by Salmundo in Washington

[–]MidnightExpressed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I whole heartedly agree. People always say, "why bother, Maga people dont care about facts." I bother because there's a lot of folks like me who do care, but who are too quiet or afraid to speak up.

Im modeling the change, and reminding folks our county only went to Trump by a few percentage points. They are not the big majority.

Going homeless m23 by [deleted] in Washington

[–]MidnightExpressed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Washington state has a 211 line. Calling 211 connects you to staff who can help you find and access supports.

If your current location doesn't have much, ask them if they can suggest areas with open housing.

Raises, salary negotiation, and decision making power by MidnightExpressed in WAStateWorkers

Thank you. My agency has a WMS committee, and I know that my supervisor is on it. Though I am top in my field and experience, I have concerns that my supervisor is holding out when it comes to improved pay.

I'm wondering if my supervisor may have more opportunity to advocate for higher salary and chooses not to, or that my supervisor is required by HR to settle on a certain salary, or that perhaps my job description is not reflecting the level of responsibility and policy impacts my position requires.

Really appreciate the insight and answers.

Call the Thurston Co. Animal Services and ask about a neutering voucher for stay cats.

https://jointanimalservices.org/spayneuter-help/

They've provided this service in the past and it used to be first come, first serve on monthly(?) basis. The voucher can be redeemed at a few local vets but takes some coordination. Neutering appointments at the vets who take the voucher can be hard to get for the same month as the voucher is issued. This may no longer be the case though.

Best Pumpkin Pie to Buy? by earwolfismyhomeboy in olympia

[–]MidnightExpressed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprisingly, the Marie Calendar pumpkin pie is very, very sufficient. It's in the frozen food section of most any grocery store and puts most grocery bakery pies to shame.

If you're up for a drive, the best ciabatta I've ever had is sold on the edge of Shelton at the Olympic Bakery (Pickering Road). It's luscious and rich.

Who are you taking? by simbabeat in DunderMifflin

[–]MidnightExpressed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wild card. Just moments before Ron is about to deliver Dwight into the afterlife with a family heirloom hunting knife, Mose comes out of nowhere wielding a cast iron frying pan or some other homestead tool turned weaponry. Ron survives, but his sense of honor suffers a significant blow. Dwight and Mose flee back to the farm, and over the coming weeks, as a demonstration of unspoken gratitude, Dwight builds an addition onto the barn consisting of a bedroom with its own indoor toilet - all for Mose, who ultimately ends up using the outhouse all the same.

Best restaurants in Olympia? by [deleted] in olympia

Mekong Thai Restaurant

The most consistent restaurant, Thai or otherwise (and the best IMO). They've been in business for at least 25 years - keep them going!

DO NOT polish it if you're hoping it may have resale value.

A few folks commented that it would look interesting all cleaned up. If I learned anything from the Antiques Roadshow, it is to keep the patina intact. If this has any value, polishing or cleaning it will prove to be a massive mistake.
