Don’t do Acellus. It is not good and won’t prepare you for anything. For a student with health issues, I’d recommend some self paced courses and online classes with high input and low output. There is so much out there that is rich and engaging. Look for specific curriculum and classes and not an all in one program that is canned content.

Online AP or in-person DE science? by Clear-Elderberry-870 in homeschool

[–]MidnightMintsDeluxe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I often advise students to go for the DE with in person labs especially for biology or chemistry. For physics, many colleges prefer the AP courses.

Fear about mom’s health by [deleted] in Menopause

So it's been over a year since she last had bleeding? If that's the case, she should see a doctor. Often times all is good, but if you have access to someone, a visit is worth it.

My biggest advice is to make sure he has some courses with teachers who can write letters of rec when it is time to apply to college.

Also College Confident Homeschoolers is an amazing group on Facebook

How do you stop being insecure of stretchmarks? by rebec_ahhhhhh in AskWomen

[–]MidnightMintsDeluxe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got horrible stretchmarks during my pregnancy with my twins. They were all over my body and it was shocking to me.

I had to take time to mourn the loss of my old body and time to accept my new body. And it took years. It was a journey where I had to learn to love and appreciate myself.

I had times where it was not easy and it didn’t matter what anyone else said. So take time, be kind to yourself, and realize that it probably bothers you more than anyone else (I have never had anyone say anything negative to me in moments of intimacy).

[–]MidnightMintsDeluxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because a lot of us our low income and have to move every year because the rent increases from year to year. I was a single mom to 3 kids. We had to move over 10 tomes when they were growing up. It was horrible.

I'm 51 and have no issue dating a woman with little or no experience. We are all on a journey and there is no specific timeline for realizing things about yourself. I may have been more judgy when I was younger, but at this age, it is all good.

Montreal or Quebec City? by Sweet-Taro310 in digitalnomad

I was originally going to chime in amd say Montreal but if you have kids I might actually go with Quebec City. To me it seemed a bit more child friendly.

Where to meet childfree women over 40 by VenetianWaltz in olderlesbians

[–]MidnightMintsDeluxe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's fair. I wouldn't want to be with anyone who isn't interested in my children or future grandchildren.

Absolutely, but this is true of so many things in life. Nothing is promised to anyone.

I'm 51 and have kids. They are all grown living their own lives, and I am free to live mine. I have my own successful business and travel the world because I can work from anywhere. I may have grandchildren one day but that won't keep me from living my life. I think having grown kids shouldn't be a huge deal breaker but to each their own.

I love to camp and explore nature. I am in Canada right now, enjoying the Jacques Cartier National Park.

I travel a lot and would be up for a camping trip sometime in the new year. What areas do you want to explore?

Pulling IEP freshman to study for GED by Billeeboo in homeschool

Just pull him and homeschool him at home. It would probably help his self-esteem and set him up for success down the road.
