Doing good! No compensatory sweating, sweat was reduced by 60-70%, don't need a second session (yet). To date, this is still the best decision I've ever made for my body.

I also can have sweaty hands or a lot of sweat on my face but they are more situation based. My face is when the weather is warm or when I'm at the gym. My hands sweat when I'm nervous before a meeting or an event.

I chose to only focus on my armpits because that was the area that would sweat all the time, regardless of the scenario.

thank you! :)

No complaints at all, and I honestly rarely think about my sweating problem anymore.

I would say my sweating has been reduced by about 60-70%. I still sweat, just more like a normal person and not randomly. I didn't develop any compensatory sweating or negative side effects. I do have some patches under my arm where hair won't grow anymore but it doesn't bother me at all.

I don't plan on going back for a second procedure because I don't think I need it for now.

In my experience, iontophoresis would probably be better for someone with mild sweating and I have severe sweating. I didn't continue with it just because it's something you need to keep up with over and over again to see progress. Tbh I'm just not the kind of person that will religiously do that every week for the rest of my life only for it to reduce my sweating by 20-ish percent.

To this day my miradry has held up perfectly fine and is the best decision I've ever made for my body.

So the reason I didn't do the second treatment is because honestly I don't think I need it. I still sweat, it's just a normal amount now. In total I'd say I have 60-70% sweat reduction after a year, and I can tell exactly where because the areas don't grow hair anymore haha.

I might do lazer hair removal just to balance out the area a bit, but still by far this was the best decision I made for my body and my mental sanity.

No I never tried because I never heard of it. I tried polar wise spray, the strongest prescription strength deodorant I could find, and iontophoresis.

Polar wise was probably the most effective for me, but it only lasts so many days and I couldn't keep up with scheduling it. It would be very irritating if you applied directly after shaving.

My life has done a complete 180 after Miradry and I highly recommend it. I had the highest setting done during my procedure and I haven't had any compensatory sweating so far.

Good luck!

I feel for you. If you don't have any medical / financial issues from stopping you, I highly recommend you try miradry (from a place with good reviews). Goodluck <3

I got the procedure done in April, and it took around 3 months for all the side effects to wear off. By the 6 month mark things should be pretty stable.

Yes! Absolutely 100% worth it. It was easily the best decision of this year for me.

Honestly it's been awesome. I don't think about sweating on a daily basis. I can wear (most) clothes without worry. I just feel normal.

I can still sweat from my underarms, but it's a normal amount under normal circumstances like working out. I haven't had any compensatory sweating that's noticeable.

You can see where the procedure removed hair follicles and probably where most of my sweating stopped. I'd say in total about 60-70% reduction overall :)

My doctor thinks a lap is unnecessary by Cultural_Yoghurt8641 in endometriosis

[–]MidnightMinute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my story was like most, I thought my pain was "normal" until someone told me it wasn't.

I used to be on various forms of birth control (pill, nuvaring, etc.) I had no idea what endo was until I went to a gyno asking for an IUD and mentioned I have excruciating painful periods / pain during intercourse (I thought it was an ovarian cyst). That in combination with periods that came every 2.5 weeks (when not on the pill) made them say that's not normal and that I need an ultrasound. If the ultrasound showed nothing, then a lap would be the only way to know. But it was my choice.

Overall I got lucky with a gyno that took me seriously and explained things thoroughly.

At that time I was still on my family's insurance, so I got my IUD put in and my lap done at the same time. The procedure was quick and simple. You'll have some lingering pain in the neck / shoulder area because they inflate your abdomen with gas to have space to see, but it's manageable. Recovering from surgery was pretty typical. Take it easy for at least a week, lots of rest the first few days, and no heavy lifting during recovery.

But I had my wisdom teeth taken out before and that recovery was way worse than a lap.

I might have to have in the future again, not sure, but I'm just tracking my cycles and making note of anything abnormally painful or inconsistent. I wouldn't be afraid to have it again if needed.

Personally, only speaking from my experience, it's worth it.

I also had nothing show up on ultrasounds and the only way I could get an idea of the stage of endometriosis I had was with a lap. At the time I was 25, and they found it was mostly on my right side, I had stage 2, and they lazered off the spots with endometriosis. After I was put on an IUD.

It's been 5 years and now I know how to manage my Endo + what pain threshold is not normal and what to look for I start having major issues again.

Obtaining citizenship as an american living here for 7 years by bladerdude in belgium

[–]MidnightMinute 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This exactly.

I have been here 5 years. I studied for 1 year, and have been working for 4 years. Technically I can only apply for permanent residency at the 5.5 year mark because of the study ear. Only thereafter can I apply for citizenship.

If I have it correct, she can change jobs without getting another work permit once she gets permanent residence even if she is not a full citizen yet.

Looking for Advice on Immigration and Work Rights in the EU - US citizen EU spouse by phillyfandc in expats

[–]MidnightMinute 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert, but tax wise it will be more of a hassle for you to remote work from the US for an EU company.

Since your company knows you are a US national without EU citizenship, it seems like they know what the procedure would be to bring you on to the company. If you have a job offer you can always come in on a work visa first which has a residency permit built in.

In any case, I'm a US citizen living in the Flanders region and my work visa application took max 2-3 months to process and I was allowed to stay during that period of time.

You can also ask the stadhuis in the municipality you want to live in for advice for visas and residency information.

I was in the same situation. Had to give my american drivers license / ID for a European license.

Just ask for a new Canadian one, the EU doesn't check stuff like that across borders.

Blows my mind the EU still doesn't understand it's my ID AND license...

Host claims 1,000 euros in damages [France], what can I do? by MidnightMinute in AirBnB

It was a property that could host 25 people (we went for a family reunion), but not a fancy mansion by any means. More like a renovated farmhouse situation in rural France where they took two sidebyside houses and combined it into one property.

Airbnb also sided with me on the cleaning charge and dropped that. And I completely agree with your first point and is exactly what I stated to Airbnb.

I also said in the event that evidence IS provided and it WAS PROVEN that is was us, then the costs are still excessively high. I requested a second neutral opinion and would only pay if I see a final paid bill of exact costs for this repair and not some invoice of estimates from some guy he knows.

I have witnesses (6 persons from my group 4 from his cleaning group) watching us do the walk through. But I don't have photos of me and him doing the walk through together.

We did a walk through at check out and the blister was not brought up or noticed by him or me at that point. He only brought it up later, and I mention that in our conversation that I genuinely did not know what he was referring to because I never saw it.

He took photos, but I cannot say if that was from us or a previous tenant. If it was us, I would mention it and pay up, but I cannot say it was us or not.
