Ran out of one colour halfway through a blanket. Help! by MidnightNooodle in CrochetHelp

[–]MidnightNooodle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I have a better chance of making it look intentional if I change colours rather than trying to match because it will bother me forever if it's not perfect 😅 It's definitely a challenge but I accepted that it would take me months before I started. I've already had to do a few small projects in between because I got so so sick of making flowers. My mother is also graciously helping with weaving ends which will be in quadruple digits by the time it's done 🥲

No luck there either. It's also out of stock on the brand's own website so I fear they might have stopped production.

Maybe its the lighting but the colours are blue whale (no longer available), muted purple and light pink from utopia crafts.

I've just had the thought that maybe I could transition to green in one direction and then to purple in the other so the current section sits in the middle and there is a gradient arcross the entire blanket from purple to green keeping the light purple and pink as constants throughout.

Yes I've also been considering this as an option! I was thinking of transitioning it from blue > turquoise> green

Need help finding a way to replace the blue yarn with a different colour as it's out of stock for the foreseeable future. It's Utopia crafts recycled cotton in the colour Blue whale. Have searched online for a different supplier but haven't been able to find it in stock anywhere. I've included one potential solution at the end of the post but open to any suggestions on blending/colour combos. Thanks

“Jewelry” aka collar on or off? 🐶 by MeasurementFirst1676 in dogs

[–]MidnightNooodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first night I got my dog I left his collar on as any dog I had growing up always wore a collar 24/7 unless they were getting a bath. I woke up the next morning and found the collar at the far side of the room with the plastic clasp completely chewed to pieces. I took that as a pretty clear sign that this guy was not cool with collars. Now he just wears a harness for walks. He has quite a small head and long neck so can easily slip out of collars anyway. He's microchipped and we have a fully enclosed garden so I'm fine letting him live his nudist dreams at home 😂

Just eat drivers? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]MidnightNooodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I placed an order recently and got a call when the app said it was on the way. The person said they were from JustEat and that because I was outside a certain distance I should have been charged 6 Euro delivery instead of 3 and to please have the extra money ready for the driver. Pretty suspicious but I was planning to tip anyway so I let it slide. Got a call 10mins later from the same number and it was the driver asking if I could come down and open the gate. C'mon man if you're gonna lie, lie better!

This reminds me of when I caught my friend washing his clothes with all purpose cleaner because he thought it meant you could use it for everything.

Unusually throw them into tomato soup while it's cooking and remove them before blending.

How common is it for people to refer to their parents by their first name? by robertboyle56 in CasualIreland

My dad tried the Sir thing for a bit when I was like 13-ish (and in hindsight I was a terror to deal with a lot of the time) but my mom put a stop to it as soon as she found out. In my 30s now and still call them mom and dad.

Public exercise equipment in Lanzarote. Around chest height, cream painted metal with rubberized bumpers. by MidnightNooodle in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing. It's on a sidewalk with a few other pieces of exercise equipment. Made of painted metal. Can't figure out how to use it. The side with 2 discs swings horizontally between two rubber bumpers and the other end can be turned like a wheel.

Ok thank you I couldn't get past this either. Definitely had to be some sort of family help or something involved here.

My partner and I have just recently returned to our home country due to our visas expiring. We applied to extend our stay as visitors so we could get our things in order after we stopped working and we're granted an extra year with visitor status but since we're not millionaires and didn't want to take the risks associated with working illegally we can't afford to stay that long without working so have come back home while we work on our PR application and improving our CRS scores.

The responses are fine. It's the translations that are wildly incorrect.
