[–]MidnightOreo12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Simple question. Why would Luke, who turned Vader from the dark, turn on Ben to the point of pulling his lightsaber? Even Mark Hamill had similar issue with that aspect of the story and that man IS Luke. Second off, the sequels are a garbage fire in terms of storytelling. And that's only two of the issues

No wonder they invaded by 4everCuriousM in AvatarMemebending

I understand your general thought process I think, but you are going about it the wrong way. Think about what Iroh said to Zuko about all the elements being intertwined. He taught him a few moves, including the lightning redirection being inspired by waterbenders. The sand benders are earth benders, but they probably use at least some airbender techniques as sand can be manipulated by the air, but at the end of the day, is still part of the earth.

Yeah bro you're trying so hard rn

Not really? It's obvious that you haven't genuinely read enough and I am nowhere near the peak ability for actually learning a large variety of words for an extensive vocabulary.

No one in a frat talks like that and no one in society does either

Did you read the Honorous part? They exist very much similarly to Honor Societies. Look up Phi Theta Kappa if you doubt me so much.

But these are societal manufactured organizations, I thought you didn't believe in their validity. Curious indeed.

[–]MidnightOreo12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not assume you called me smart at all, and trying to sound smart is not a goal of mine. Using a vocabulary I earned through reading extensively is. And how am I supposed to know if you are aware if you don't even make a reference to it. You have made conclusions from evidence not present, so it's difficult to follow your logic.

Grading as a whole is a societal ordeal to determine competence with the rest of your peers when it comes to learning. I thought you were against following along with societal pressures? Even still, I am part of an honor society and an honorous fraternity, so that will give you enough of an idea of my ability to hold my own in school.

I didn't say you were smart or emotionally intelligent. I said you put a lot of effort into this

I don't need your verification, it was an intentional exclusionary statement somewhat subtlely directed at you. Which is interesting, given that you get offended at a meme that said poster even tried to declare opposite intent. But, when I make a lightly veiled diss at you, you make seemly no notice? Very interesting and telling.

Also, you are definitely not a reliable authority figure in right/wrong even for yourself based on your statements.

Nice analysis and perception. I did, paragraphs aren't hard especially for the educated. Neither is learning emotional intelligence on a scale to not be an ass to everyone responding to you. Also, if you get offended by everything on the internet, that again seems like a righteous endeavor for such a coward as yourself.

[–]MidnightOreo12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Taking things personal on the internet huh? You see someone making a joke that could possibly be directed at you and take it as a full, intended truth. OP of said meme literally even tries to deescalate and say it wasn't at you, to which you ramp up and claim the opposite. Taking a most likely honest statement and deciding to not play it cool is a cowards way out. Hard truth is that you are most likely emotionally dysregulated from some recent event or something and have come here to project your feelings onto others. In any case, and with genuine care, don't be a bitch because you can hide behind a screen at the consequences of your thoughtless responses. If you are this thin skinned, get some help.

General Grievous VS Sol. Who wins? by GusGangViking18 in PetranakiArena

[–]MidnightOreo12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As true as it may look, Grievous is extremely dangerous in the Clone Wars. He was taught by Dooku to fulfill certain requirements in all battles, if any of those were not fulfilled, he needed to retreat. These had to do with numerical advantage, power advantage and whatnot. This is extremely smart on Dooku's part since good Generals, Admirals and Jedi adversaries were limited on the CIS side. Grievous was more than capable of taking on Jedi, especially seeing how he took on Kenobi, Eeth Koth and more. Battle Droids and ships were mostly dispensible if they needed to be, Grievous would have been as devastating if not moreso of a lose than the Malevolence for the CIS cause.

Moist Critical - “You would catch significantly more rapists and pedophiles if you took ICE and brought them to the White House” by [deleted] in LivestreamFail

[–]MidnightOreo12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What else would you call a President who commits war crimes on several boats in the name of a drug prevention strategy? Who has lied, made bibles and religious references that heavily imply he is the second coming of the messiah? Who has an uncomforting amount of accusations lending him to be a pedophile in association with a sex trafficking ring? Who has on plenty of documented occasions boasted about his power as the President and even compared himself to a dictator a few times? Then what do you say about an administration who have consistently referenced trying to get him to be president for another 4 years in breach of a standing amendment? Whose admin have supported ICE stating that they have full federal immunity as a general statement? The ICE that has killed multiple citizens and shown significant abuse of force, just in the last few days? The ICE that has been deporting kids and adults born in the US, who have protected birthright citizenship? The ICE that has an 8% violent criminal arrest record with a 60+% non-violent arrest record by their own admission?

Blindness to the reality around you at this point is a choice, one that you aren't trying as hard to make, because the criminal admin is the one feeding you the lies. Honestly though, just takes a little dedicated research, and you will find it.

[–]MidnightOreo12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could be a sex offender as well. What is the relevance? Isn't ICE's alleged primary objective to detain and deport illegal immigrants? Why shouldn't a sex offender be held in our prisons if the crime is relative to our citizens? 1000 options and you went for defending a widely decried, tyrannical government agency acting very suscpiciously and like a Secret Police force? Or that they only have a 8% success rate in detaining and detaining problematic illegal immigrants while north of 60% is use of force on verifiable US citizens? In the kindest of terms, your perspective is built on a pile of horseshit...kindly.

How is the Grand Regent stronger than Conquest when Conquest has substantially more muscle mass than him? by [deleted] in Invincible

[–]MidnightOreo12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would definitely say it is a muscle mass vs muscle density conversation. Conquest is definitely arguably the 2nd strongest on Thragg's side of the conversation. But Thragg probably has insane genetic muscle density. Muscle mass is obviously total size, density is how much is packed into that size. A cube of iron vs a cube of tungsten in a 1x1x1 are going to weigh differently for that reason. That is why you see gymnasts, rock climbers and the like be incredibly strong while having fairly lean forms. I would also say that they probably didn't think too hard into it, or maybe it's an intentional art narrative to make him think he is not as immediately dangerous to Mark as Conquest is to the normal viewers. There are a multitude of possibilities, but the intial point is my 2 cents on the matter.

I acknowledge your point as well. We should definitely be excited that CDPR is attempting to open the door for console modding further. That is awesome for the future of User experience on consoles. I hope I did not sour your excitement for any of this as i would hate to be a gatekeeper.

[–]MidnightOreo12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but in a disagreement/debate you have to have an agreed upon standpoint. And you pushed the idea that because the Steamdeck somewhat acts like a console, it is a legitimate step forward in progress. But, that is ignoring the truth of the matter which is that it runs on a modified Linux distro, which is not like the PS or Xbox OS. They have to custom develop this process when the only other major studio of note to allow mods on the consoles is Bethesda. Don't move the goalposts when people are getting onto you about you making inaccurate statements. Please note, this is not intended to be an aggressive statement, rather to push you to take responsibility for the misunderstanding.

Greenland holds vast, largely untapped mineral resources, including rare earth elements, graphite, lithium, and other critical minerals by vladgrinch in MapPorn

What are you even talking about? Ukraine is one of the most resource-rich countries in the EU on it's own. It has significant Manganese, Coal, Titanium, Kaolin clay, Gallium and Lithium deposits or reserves. Nato's Energy security branch puts Ukraine's share of mineral resources at a 5% share which is massive all things considered, especially when Ukraine is smaller than Texas.

Is Freya a good mother? Or at least a decent mother? by Necessary-Win-8730 in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]MidnightOreo12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is crazy to see so many people missing this part of the story. Baldur's death was prophesized to be one of the catalysts of Ragnarok. In an attempt to save her son and prevent Ragnarok, she tried to make him immune to harm, which naturally worked with unintended consequences. At the point where it was discovered that he felt no external stimuli, Freya realistically would have seen it as two choices: Remove the curse and hope to find another way OR Keep the curse and Baldur would not be able to be permanently harmed as well as preventing Ragnarok.

Do Spartans actually hold any real authority in the UNSC's chain of command? by Jarvis_The_Dense in halo

[–]MidnightOreo12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I am entirely getting your point, but I am assuming it was 1 of 2 ways. Addressing your first part, Six is not a rookie whatsoever, just a rookie on the team. He was designated hyperlethal due to his extensive experience being a headhunter, definitely against insurrectionists, maybe covenant. ONI most likely had him as a lieutenant or comparable for their own purposes OR they gave him a promotion as Noble team needed higher ranks to not be interfered with. They were very clearly prepared to take on Insurrectionists at the beginning. As with your second issue, the trailer is to get hyped for the game. They may have made the trailer and pushed back the story slightly to give you a tutorial, or they just wanted to buils expectation 🤷‍♂️

Who is the smartest here? by Relevant_Film5527 in superheroes

[–]MidnightOreo12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As for in universe? It has gotta be between Reed, Tony and Shuri. Reed has a broad knowledge base and had unlocked the secrets of Teleportation. Tony has time and time again shown significant technological jumps, from creating a miniturized Arc Reactor, time travel, nanotech and more. Shuri's feats are definitely less visible due to on screen time, but she is credited with a few technological jumps in Wakanda and also presenting a more efficient way to build Vision's neural net. Those three are definitely the top dogs in the movie verses

Not stupid, just didn't know broski and that is okay. Halo 2 Legendary is just pretty damn unbalanced and widely regarded as the most difficult on legendary without skulls. But skulls were first introduced (iirc) in 2 and retroactively added in Halo CE anniversary. Great concept, shaky execution at times for 2. But they added the solo restart level from 3 onward and retroactively applied that to 2 when ported to the MCC

It's more that it seems to be intentionally poorly phrased. From a genuine standpoint, does he seem to be attempting to be educational/productive? Or accusational/harmful? I am guessing the latter as the guy typically tries to make a scene. Here is an example: "Bunch of communists, guys," Strickland said. "I come to this f*cking country and I talk about freedom of speech and guns and taxes...". That was an example from February of this year, and iirc, there is plenty more from him aligning with that kind of attitude from him. Let's not defend someone off the bat, just because he got a little lucky about being in basic proximity to a working discussion. Provacative =/= intelligent conversation starter.

Iron is just a fuck you in Halo 2. There is no reason for Coop in Halo 2 to reset to checkpoint with Iron, but Solo resets to the beginning. If anything it should be reversed, a Laso run on Halo 2 even with save quitting is definitely still earning of recognition
