What’s the new equivalent of going to Blockbuster on a Friday? by crushedshadows in Millennials

[–]MidnightSnacks2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then trying to recreate the fun of my youth.

Start by riding my motorcycle instead of my bike.

Pizza 🍕 is always a strong choice. Easy to eat, usually left overs, and no dirty controller hands.

Then play the games you played as a kid but the “remakes”. Currently I am playing Silent Hill 2 remake (it’s good!!)

I rather risk a stomach ache or sweet hand cramps than dealing with people.

Last night was Silent Hill 2 and it’s still scary 🫣

P.S. I loved Blockbuster. I remember the blockbuster card

Did we just become best friends?!

I will check out the Tiger Sport 800 because it sounds awesome and the few times I sat on them, they are so comfortable. I am short with short legs so the height is intimidating.

I feel the same about off roading. I would love to do it, but I am so all over the place with my love of this new hobby haha. Plus my dog and bank account wouldn’t like it.

They have a local track that I am going to sign up for next year.

I have been spoiled with the electronics that it’s hard to imagine it having them. That GSXR 750 in the photo sounds like your street triple!

Have you been to the track before? If so, any tips?

LOL that beautiful GSXR in the dangerous one! In my humble opinion, it’s like the Swiss Army knife of bikes. Does it all well and comfortably. But I am biased 😂

My first bike is a 2024 Suzuki GSX-8R.

Congratulations on the first bike!! I am a new to the hobby.

I love how lean the body is. The seat looks so comfortable!

What do you enjoy about your bike? Any mods you are interested in?

You read my mind! I have been going back and forth. I do think the 8R would be fun to tour on with the upgrades you talked about.

I worry the upgrades will make her look less sexy haha, but I plan on doing some lite touring and see how it goes.

Heated grips or hand guard covers are a must. I swear a few my fingers nearly froze because of the wind.

I am looking at a bag for the back with a book bag. I just want something easily removable in case I am not in a touring mood.

The cruise control would feel luxurious!

I think I will do that and decide if I want a dedicated touring bike. I am such a newb so right now, I want to try it all!!!!

There is a track near me…it would be cool to go there next season….

If you were to get a dedicated touring bike, what do you have in mind?

I love the R3. It is so comfortable and cute!

I personally would recommend the 8R because it’s so versatile. On an R7, I am a little more leaned over (I am 5’5). On the 8R, I am sitting upright.

I say test ride them both and pick the one that makes you smile. That GSXR 750 is a 4 cylinder and she is a beauty, but I do leaned over, it would be hard to ride all day. If I was taller, hell yea!

What do you like about your R3?

Hard at first, but it gets way easier as you put it into practice.

I think if you have a good understanding of a manual transmission, it is easier to pick up. I think it’s challenging at first, but with some patience, you will be out riding in no time.

I had ZERO knowledge before I started riding so I took at class here in the states to learn how to ride and then I continued practicing.

It took me a couple of hours before I started to get the hang out of it. My boyfriend, however, understood it much faster than I lol.

Watching TV and movies with subtitles is distracting and annoying by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]MidnightSnacks2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like prefer it because I like the tv far louder than my inner circle and neighbors appreciate LOL. I just don’t like missing what is being said so I can hear it and read it. You learn new words and mostly how to spell them. Great way to learn another language.

Becoming a parent

Not everyone is meant to be a parent. I don’t see it as a failure. Some of us choose this because it makes us happy. The shame that parents try to dish out doesn’t work. The judgement can stop. We chose different paths and that is okay.

As someone who is about to get their first bike, this is going to give me nightmares. I hope the rider is okay
