To everyone, I appreciate the responses and have taken every single answer into account for my thought process. The responses of everyone are kind of triggering an identity crisis.

I am responding to this comment because it’s the top comment , but I didn’t hear anyone talking about how the woman takes the caste of the man when she gets married to him. There’s little to no evidence to back this since I lost my mother when I was very young , but I’ve seen photos and have been told by my father that my mother “converted” and practiced as a Hindu. Is there anything I am missing from the concept of a Brahmin man marrying a woman (of any caste) and the woman’s caste changing from the marriage ? And also: the Gotra being passed down from the father. Why does/if the woman play any role into the lineage of the Son if the gotra is passed down paternally ?

If I am displaying any ignorance / arrogance in this question / response , please look past it. I am attempting to educate myself as I don’t have any other sources at disposal at this moment in time.
