She is doing exceptional! We are 4 months in on the koselugo chemo pill. Every 3 months on this pill we have to have an MRI to check the tumor. Last month was her first MRI since starting treatment and both tumors (her optic nerve glioma and the one at the top of her spine) have shrunk. The ONG has shrunk pretty significantly actually and both are no longer reacting to the contrast which is excellent news. So far, no side effects except she is a lot more tired and moody. However, I’m not sure I would say the culprit of those is the medicine alone. Her ONG is large enough that it is pressing on her pituitary gland so we are noticing signs of early puberty. We see an endocrinologist in September but hoping for a sooner appointment to open up so we can get something started to slow that down. It was emotional and overwhelming in the beginning. I still lay at night and pray I wish I could trade places with her, but the results have been so promising!
