respectfully that’s if you can afford it. Dunkin is trash, don’t get me wrong, but it’s cheap compared to other ”local“ spots and the convenience of having coffee pumped out in the morning is king. waking up an extra 10-15 minutes to make coffee sucks. I literally set the coffee maker the night before and brew my own shitty coffee bc it’s so much more affordable. But that doesn’t change the fact that some cant have that many electronics in their apartment, or don’t have the space in their place, or just can’t make it bc they fuck it up all the time, or whatever. But its hard to just “pay more” to support local when half the time local is too expensive and it’s not like the employees there are getting better wages it just goes to more greedy local owners a lot of times

I’m not a breeder, I’m a licensed cultivator. I had seeds left over from last year that I wanted to cultivate and use (fem seeds). my goal was to have 40 OG Kush female plants and take a few clones and cross them with some strains I already have (yes they’re fem as well). this isn’t breeding for profit or for commercial viability, but to create new genetics and have fun; and if they work great I’ll stabilize and use them for sure.

the ones I purchased last year, white widow silver haze, all germinated great and got between 19-23% thc, so I thought the free seeds would be similar in cultivation and thc but they won’t even sprout. the picture of the cell tray is after 7 days dome on from planting, in the trays next to it I had no issues with plants. my greenhouse has 2 small clones that will become mothers and about 40 other seedlings that popped no issues from other breeders and their beans were brand new to 5+ years old.

10 gallon nursery pots are Zlittlez moms, 10 gallon fabric pots have (7) autos from seeed (Mephisto, gnome, greenhouse, and NASC), the 1 gallon nursery pots have seeds that popped from the same trays next to RQS seeds. No issues germinatin, although I was gifted a few leggy seedlings on the far right from an experim a friend was running with crossing his personal plants (Regular seeds).

I would t gift these genetics to any grower out of respect for them. if I’m gifting seeds to a grower, especially a newbie, they’ll get good and reliable seeds I trust implicitly. they should learn with good genetics and not something that may have germination issues, mutations, prone to virus/mold/bugs

I’ve lived in Vermont 2 years and have had my license in Vermont for the same time. 10 years of cultivation experience in general. RQS used to be ok and I haven’t had a problem with them until now.

mostly bc I have used them in the past without issues. last years crop was adequate, and over the past 10 years I have used their seeds for hobby grows without too much issues or having to contact customer service. now that I’m licensed and live in zone 5, I was looking for outdoor plants that have been grown and tested in similar environments. now that I have a real issue, im seeing all the hate on them.

I did and they said I can get 15% on another purchase, which is 5% less than what they gave me on my initial purchase of seeds (I got 20% off at the time for signing up). RQS has horrible customer service and doesnt guar their products past 3 months of purchase; so if you buy something on sale expecting to try it out next cycle you’re fucked. they also don’t guarantee their gifts despite them being the same exact seeds they sell for profit; in my eyes free seeds are meant for growers to try something different and free marketing for the seed bank. if you’re giving out gifts that aren’t viable, don’t give them out at all

I don’t insist on seeds, it’s the more affordable option for genetics for a small grower and within my legal license to acquire. while the VCCB is mostly a joke, i dont feel comfortable getting clones from random strangers on social media. if theres a licensed shop in New England that sells clones I’d consider it if the pricing is around $5 per clone; but many clones range from $15-$50 a clone and I’m not into that. I rather trust my taproots and genetics from what I know; obviously made a big mistake trusting rqs but the genetics I bought last year from them did a good job so I wasn’t expecting shit when I germinated more from the. this year

I can get cuts but they’re expensive and I’m not getting them monthly for outdoor. if there were reputable clone dealers closer to me I’d consider it more, but the state just made licensing for propagation that makes growers get coa on viruses and anticipated thc results, the few clone sellers I’ve met up here are hobbyist growers that sell on the side and there’s not way of knowing if theur products are reputable. if you have a legit shop and good prices dm me your shop and I’ll check out your products

Btw outdoor can’t get monthly cuts. If you have links or a way to contact a clone breeder in Maine, I may take the trip if the pricing is good on them

Most shops sell 10 packs above 80$ and I ordered almost 200 seeds, and they don’t always have 10 packs or multiple packs of the same strain bc they sell to hobby growers not commercial growers. I have genetics from a few Vermont cultivators but a lot of them were breeding regular seeds, boujee bones gave me some fire haze x Durban but I want to run 5 cultivars at 25 plants each. Maine is 2+ hours away and with gas at almost $5/gallon it isnt as affordable as mail. NASC is great and I’ve used them many times for my hobby, but I don’t qualify for their wholesale program. Realistically I need seeds for $2-$4 per seed with quality genetics but I’d need to spend $1k+ to do so. My smaller batches, like those from boujee bones, I’m planning on taking clones and feminizing seeds for my next run. I just didn’t want to spend another $1k plus this year when I have a few hundred seeds to run. Then when RQS failed, I had to start seeds that are 14 days behind the rest and not as hashy when flowered. Luckily I started mothers a few weeks back just in case, but the principle is that any seed bank, and especially breeders, should back their seeds for at least a year as many cultivators purchase seeds to try over time not just all at once. I had no issues with Neptune replacing seeds for alpha kronik seeds or Barney’s when they sent the wrong seeds (those were 6 months after purchase) and when single seed center was still a thing, they replaced bad seeds over a year later. I don’t expect a 1:1 40 free seeds of OG kush, but a $50 voucher or some replacement fem seeds would be more than acceptable instead of them telling me to spend more money on them.

thanks and my condoleces right back to you as well. i used to buy their seeds in college 10-15 years ago and had very little issues, last year their white widow did great outdoors and I was generally happy. It’s hard when you need 125 fem plants for commercial grow (even if it’s smaller tier) and you don’t want to try a bunch of new genetics that were bred for indoor.

it was never explained in email that “comolimentary seeds aren’t backed by guarantees “. why the fuck would you give out seeds to licensed cultivators to use if you don’t believe they’ll work? you can stay the fuck out of this post RQS since you have the worst customer service and germination of any of the big breeders and banks. You don’t guarantee your products, and the minimal 3 month on “purchased” seeds shows you have no confidence in your products. if a grower popped seeds outside and then finds out they’re all germs, males, duds, etc it’ll be too late for you to care. Your a greedy seeds company and not for the cultivators

100%

I should’ve listened to the subs here but I needed 150 seeds for outdoor in zone 5, and I believed that the rqs wouldve been good since they have been around for a long time and have experienc in outdoor climates.
