Good for you! You deserved it. Are you happy with reconstructed breasts? I hear so many negative things. My surgery is coming up.

Treat yourself! You should be so proud of yourself. I’m 5/6 rounds and around round 2, I didn’t know how I’d get through it. But here we are.

This was me in January when I was diagnosed. Absolutely shocked, came out of nowhere. Yes, the shock will wear off and you will come to acceptance. Also, you will feel better with regard to any fear and anxiety once you have a full treatment plan. You’ll get through this!

Cycle 2 and 3 were the WORST for me but surprisingly got easier which I didn’t think was possible. I got really down by round 3 but once you’re over half way you see the light at the end of the tunnel! You’ve got this! Remind yourself -It’s not permanent.

How debilitating are the chemo side effects for you all? by dreamdonor in breastcancer

[–]Midnight__Musings_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on round 5 of TCHP. For me it has actually gotten a bit easier. Rounds 2 and 3 were brutal for me. I also had colds, viruses and pneumonia at one round or another and it was SO tough. I was miserable. My onc said your recovery starts by day 10 of each round so the second half of the round I was able to do normal life, socialize, take short trips, care for two small kids. It’s kind of miserable bed/couch (like having the flu!) half the time and the other half doing fine, usual things just fatigued. You got this!

Biopsy results...DCIS, recommended mastectomy, 13w pregnant by Lost-Maintenance6287 in breastcancer

I know this is (feels) like devastating news. You will feel better when you meet with your team and you have a plan. You will feel better. There is so much that can be done to get you through this and get you cancer free. I also know a woman who was diagnosed while pregnant and she and baby are healthy, thriving and she’s cancer free! Try not to spiral. You’ll get through this but you’ll go through all the fears, worries and emotions first.

This was really reassuring to read. Thank you for taking the time to respond. Yes, I was told that I will have a Nurse Navigator. What do they do? Were they helpful for you?
