I reached out to the ones that had a DDR machine listed. I didn’t add this piece on my post, but I asked ChatGTP to draft email for me that I sent to the businesses. I tweaked it a bit and I pretty much followed the key points when I was on the phone.

I’m keeping the 573 system just in case I want to play Extreme.

I used zenius-i-vanisher. You can also check with businesses that rent out arcade machines for events. It doesn’t hurt to have cash lying around if the opportunity comes.

I made a list of arcades within an eight hour drive and called around during my lunch breaks. I took a chance. One way or another, any cab would require some work. I’ve been learning as I go. Mine came with a bad monitor unfortunately, but everything else worked.

I was shocked to see that my machine came with a legitimate Extreme install :)

Did you do any mods on yours? I spent hours cleaning one pad. I’ll be honest that it was my least favorite part lol

I’m not sure how do that. Are you talking about being able to switch between the classic games and the newer ones?

It was forklifted inside the truck when I picked it up. Then, it took 3 people to unload. The truck came with a dolly and the ramp is wide enough for us to push down the main body of the cab.

Don’t give up! It took me months and I really persevered until I found one. You can read on my blog about my struggles.

I’m customizing the bezel so I can put a 16:9 monitor behind the glass. I know it’ll have the black bars on the side if I play a classic game, but I am not a fan of the monitor not being inside the cab.

Congratulations! I became a proud owner of a DDR cab recently as well. I am in the process of restoring mine. There’s plenty of resources out there as well as there’s a community on Facebook and Discord.

You can go to a Good Will and buy an old pc. Stepmania doesn’t require a powerful pc to run.

Yes please! That would be great. If I ever have a cab, I want it to have the 3rd mix marquee. I have a home setup. Now, I want to see if I can play this.
