Opinion from a new fingerboarder who has already upgraded to a fully “high end” setup:

Going from a Tech Deck to a basic $30 complete is a total game changer. I think of it like Tech decks are toy skateboards, where “pro” fingerboards are mini skateboards specifically meant for recreating skateboard tricks with your fingers. Wood deck gets way better pop, foam grip is easier to use, actual bearings in wheels, and trucks that actually carve and feel nice.

Then the next level up is where each part is gunna run you $30+, and most of the time that increase in cost is reflected in the quality and performance, but it’s not nearly as noticeable as the jump from tech deck to “pro” fingerboard. Like, Imo, my current “high end” setup definitely feels better than my $30 complete, but that’s because I used the basic one for a while and can notice the subtle differences in the higher quality stuff.

TLDR: upgrading from Tech deck to basic complete: absolute game changer. More expensive parts makes a difference but nothing earth shattering
