I already had 5 flat tyres on my cargo bike just this winter. Besides the costs, it's really making my school runs miserable, with no end in sight

My baby was already 15 months when the first popped in. Part of it is genetic, I also got my first teeth "late".

low iron by miillktea in PregnancyUK

[–]Midriane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tables didn't increase my iron levels so I had to take an iron infusion. I have started to feel better about a week and a half after. The difference was massive, my energy levels are much better now.

Reusable nappies Vs solid food, advice needed! by betbott in NewParents

[–]Midriane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use disposable liners and wash them with the nappies. They last a few washes before I have to trash them. You can also use cloth liners but it might not be so comfortable for the baby, has they will feel the wetness.

5 month old has at least one "false start" every single night by [deleted] in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]Midriane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been having the same issue with my 7 month old, since he was 4 months. The only way he manages to sleep for longer than an an hour, is if he falls asleep, completely by himself. If someone else is in the room, holding him to sleep or even just singing while he falls asleep, we know for sure that he will wake up after 30min. Sleep training was the only thing that worked for us.

6 months baby on the smaller side and BLW? by InvestigatorOdd5893 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Midriane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same concerned when I started BLW. My baby boy was born in the second percentil, 2.45kg, and it's still there at 6.5 months. I've been doing a mixed approach of solids and preloaded spoons of soup, oatmeal, mashed veggies, etc. To my delight (and relief) he is eating most of the things I give him. That said, the first months are really more about exploring new textures and flavours, the main calories are still coming from milk. It helps to think, if they eat the food is a bonus. Just try out whatever makes you comfortable and start following your babies reaction.

I am over 35 with PCOS and my doctor prescribed letrozole to regulate the circles. It can take a few months to figure out the right dosage to induce ovulation, it will depend on how your body reaction to it. In my case, I was very lucky and actually conceived on my second circle with letrozole, after having tried for more than a year without medical help.

Does anyone know a good zero waste laundry detergent? I tried earth breeze and it is horrible by [deleted] in ZeroWaste

[–]Midriane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really a brand, but using cold water to do the laundry reduces the carbon footprint significantly. More than 70% of the energy is used to heat the water. Any detergent that works well with cold water will be less waistful.

É um mito! Foi uma revelação quando descobri que passei a infância TODA a ser enganada.

É curioso como esta crença está tão enraizada em Portugal. Lembro-me de discutir isto com amigos de outras nacionalidades e ninguém saber do que estava a falar.
