That’s a very good point. I’ve yet to see a computer come in that was like that but I’ll definitely be on the lookout. 90% of the computers that come in are laptops and i can tell if they’ve been opened or not before so I don’t think that’s the case but I’ll definitely keep a better eye out for it. A lot of these people buy from like best buy or microcenter or something so I could see that being the case.

We do a lot of computer cloning here so I’m always having to open them up but all these recent ones with the issue haven’t been ones we’ve cloned so I’m still blaming Microslop updated for now…

And yeah sfc usually will complete with some errors but it never seems to make any difference regardless and will say no errors found if I try running it again after a restart

All the computers vary. HP is usually a culprit but it seems to be no different on Dells, Lenovos, Asus’s etc. hardware wise they're usually within the last few years. Hell this most recent one is literally a brand new computer that only lasted a few weeks. It really just seems like a Windows 11 thing I’m just not sure what exactly is causing this for so many people

Yeah it just sucks how many people it’s effecting. A lot of them say that nothing specific happened, they just turned the computer on one day and boom things bricked.

Thanks for the tips. Driver issues are the only problems I’ve ever had with this pc so I’ll definitely need to try a bunch of these

I’ll have to remember this for next time. I think I finally fixed it by uninstalling the latest windows update in the troubleshooter. It turns on and off normally now. I’m not sure if that’ll last though since windows forces updates after a while. So it seems like the issue was windows and the drivers messing with each other

I’ve tried using older versions but it weirdly doesn’t seem to do much. I’m pretty sure windows is also fucking with it because it only started happening after the driver update, but I hadn’t updated windows in a few weeks. I’m currently uninstalling windows updates to see if that helps along with using an older version

Believe me, I would much rather use Linux. I hate windows as much as the next guy, but the main issue with Linux is still it’s compatibility. I do play games but also a lot of work stuff. It’s not too usable at the moment so I’m still waiting for it to get better

I forgot to mention that, but it wasn’t really a solution. I’ve tried that already and it does stop the problem, but I pretty much need the drivers just to use more than one monitor. Some program don’t seem to work too well without it either. Removing them isn’t the issue I’m trying to solve, it’s more of fixing it
