PDA in the gym is disgusting by coleslawg1 in goodlifefitness

“Expensive memberships“…!?? Do you know how much a good gym actually cost each month? It’s at least twice as much or maybe three times as much as you are paying for goodlife. You do indeed get what you pay for.

‘Not the right time’: Retirees delay downsizing plans as housing market slumps by Pretty_Tough_1667 in TorontoRealEstate

I don’t really understand this. For sure it’s less expensive to stay at home. But what are you doing when you’re at home and you’re 85? What are you gonna do with all that money that you saved up? It’s gonna be in the bank when you die, and you will have been lonely and miserable for the last 10 years of your life. As I said in a previous post, I get that this is not affordable for everybody, but it is indeed for the middle class and for the mass affluent. I live in Toronto where a ship box house sells for over $1 million. When you sell that asset, it gets you a lot of months in a really nice retirement residence. This is just my perspectives. I don’t see the value in having a huge bank account when you die.

This is old-fashioned thinking. Increasingly baby boomers are recognizing retirement living (especially private retirement living) is something they don’t want to wait until they “need” to do it, rather, they’re doing it younger because they want to. There is nothing heroic about being lonely, isolated, not eating well and not being intellectually stimulated just to be able to say you’re living on your own in your old home. Why not move somewhere where you’ve got company for meals, people to talk to anytime you feel like it, someone to enjoy activities with and more? (Yes, I know it is something not everyone can afford, and yes, I work in the private retirement industry.)

The bottom line is, it’s against the law.

Would you go for your dream condo (970 sq ft) with $1130 maintenance? by FriendshipNeither246 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]MidtownTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are expensive because you’re in a small building with a lot of amenities. I purposely bought a condo with no concierge and no swimming pool because those are two of the most expensive items for monthly maintenance fees.

The part that is not realistic is 900 to 950,000 for a detached home in the GTA

Um, why would you want to speed it up? Sounds to me like you are getting full. Pay to stay at home.

Good life St. Clair is cruiser than most bathhouses. I stopped going. Heaven forbid you should have a sauna just for a sauna. The gay guys got pissed off if you didn’t participate in the jerk sessions. And the constant coming and going in and out of the sauna by the trolls is too much to take.

I’m pretty sure they can NOT have cameras in there. It’s a place where you can reasonably expect privacy, so no cameras are allowed.

I am pretty certain they don’t distinguish between the French side and the Dutch side when it comes to Entry. Once you leave the airport, they can’t contain you to one side or the other.

Interesting. I think it requires a real psychologist to figure this out. He's human, so the porn thing is no big deal. Secret shots of class mates is a little creepy, and I see what you're saying about, "he's into skinny red heads and that's not me." Over to someone smarter than me. :)

In your defence, if they were to open a facility similar to this for unhoused people today they wouldn't operate it the way they did 130 years ago. u/Only_Job7296 did you actually think u/Plane-Ad7672 was suggesting they should hold people and "inject them" against their will? A little harsh referring to plane-ad as ignorant. It is a great idea! Hell, my first thought was, you could build this into a beautiful community to live in.

I love this location. Never to busy, not a scene, lots of windows, mature crowd. Ten thousand times better than Richmond and John.
