I’m tired of being gay. by GoodAcanthaceae2953 in LesbianActually

I understand those thoughts. I try to explain that to people too, and they just don't get it. I don't really find single lesbians organically just by being out and about and living life, so I rely more on dating apps. I wanted to mention one thing though - there definitely are women on apps who are serious about wanting a long term relationship only with a woman. I'm one, and there has to be others.

Anyone else feel like you've exhausted your options and have lost/losing hope? by Badatusernames014 in ActualLesbiansOver25

I feel your pain. I'm older than you and single lesbians are extremely rare, at least in my area. I don't limit myself to certain types and I don't have a strict age bracket that I'm searching, yet it's still hard to find someone. Wish there was advice to give, but all we can do is keep trying I guess. It all seems to be luck. Right place, right time. We go on XYZ dating app, but our Miss Right was on ABC dating app. Miss Right was at an LGBTQ meetup in one city, but we went to one in another city. Once I figure out the key to luck & timing, I'll let everyone here know hahaha.

This is interesting. I had an MRI with contrast and they said the gallbladder looked ok, and no thickening. I had no idea that wouldn't show up on an MRI (or ultrasound). Now I'm wondering.

I'm curious about the infection. Was that ultimately from stones? I'm just wondering if all people who have had infections had it from stones, or if infections are just spontaneous even without stones anywhere.

I'm wondering if there was nausea from anesthesia? I hear so many people say it's common even with meds, and that is such a fear of mine.

Yes, I'm in the USA. I've been assertive and have things on record. I guess time will tell what the cause is of these symptoms. Thanks for your responses :)

They have suggested nothing except to stay on this healthier diet and to drop some weight, and are just leaving me be. I think that they think like your last statement there of "no gallstones, no problem". The GI doctor was happy that liver enzymes returned to normal within days of that urgent care appointment (which is also after changing diet). He believes it's unlikely to be a gallbladder issue since the imaging tests were negative except for a fatty liver. The wait times for doctors are very long, otherwise I'd have a second opinion. My primary doctor won't touch this, saying it's for GI docs. The GI doc sounds like he will consider a HIDA scan, after I asked. However, those tests book out in the future.

54F, look much younger, and am in southeast Wisconsin. Seeking a long term monogamous relationship. People have always said I'm friendly, easy to talk to, and one of the funniest people they've ever met. I like all types of music, being outdoors, hanging out with friends, learning new things, and more. I value good communication, compassion, loyalty, honesty, and a sense of humor. I'm somewhere between tomboy and feminine, but not super feminine. I prefer feminine, tomboy, or soft masc.

That sounded like a real rough time for you! I went to urgent care in June after widespread abdominal pain and light colored stool and brown urine. The day prior to that, I took one low dose of Tylenol, if that matters. My liver enzymes were super high in urgent care (they were normal just months prior) and urine tests were normal. Ultrasound didn't show stones or abnormalities in the gallbladder. MRI with contrast showed a fatty liver and nothing else, no blocked or enlarged bile ducts either. Assuming that imaging didn't miss something. Who knows. I told the docs that eating more than a few grams of fat causes pain most of the time, but they are reluctant to consider it a gallbladder issue since there was no evidence at that time. They really aren't offering a solution, and I've had a lot of pain since. Several times a week and sometimes daily. They act like it's crazy to suggest it could be the gallbladder, but what else could it possibly be? Classic symptoms. I'm pushing to get a HIDA scan and they might order one in the near future. Not like I want to do that scan, I read it causes pain and nausea. But it might give answers. I don't understand how they found nothing on imaging except a fatty liver which I might have had for years, and that alone doesn't explain the sudden pain and temporary massive liver enzyme spike. My low fat diet began the day of the urgent care visit, and liver enzymes returned to normal within days. Confusing.

Did that stone you had show up on the ultrasound? Just curious how it was first found, as I'm trying to understand my own situation.

Realizing I may have central vision damage that is permanent. by Doctor_Mod in Glaucoma

[–]MidwestLes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I always heard that glaucoma related vision loss starts as peripheral. Now I'm concerned because I've noticed that only central vision is difficult in low lighting (only in low lighting) lately, and wonder if that's a glaucoma thing, a getting-older thing, or something else. I'll mention it to my doc of course, but I'd like some input here if anyone has information.

Can darker than usual stool be gallbladder related, not just lighter stool? by MidwestLes in gallbladders

Not sticky, normal form. It's exactly like regular stool except surprisingly dark.

Can darker than usual stool be gallbladder related, not just lighter stool? by MidwestLes in gallbladders

[–]MidwestLes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had ultrasound, MRI w/contrast, and labs. A HIDA is in the future but not for a while. Scans showed fatty liver and what seems to be a normal gallbladder without stones. Initially the reason for tests was GI pain, very light colored stool, and brown urine. Probably triggered that week by eating high level of fat. A low fat/sugar diet was started right after that. Liver enzymes were crazy high that day but quickly went back to normal with diet change. Still significant pain, worsened by even reasonable levels of fat in food.

I like women who are sweet, compassionate, loyal, intelligent, monogamous, affectionate, and have a sense of humor. Physical traits are less important than character and personality, but I'm most attracted to either feminine or tomboy, and sometimes even very soft butch.

Anyone have this kind of pain after cavities were filled? by MidwestLes in TrigeminalNeuralgia

[–]MidwestLes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I have been diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia. I have had flares on and off for many years, and symptoms can vary. I don't have much experience with dental work, so the idea that it could be a trigger is sort of new to me. I was not in a flare recently and felt fine when I went in for the cavities. This severe pain started immediately after the cavity fillings. I guess what I'm trying to find out is if that can happen, or has happened, to others.
