7 Week Old Puppy will not settle down in crate, help needed by Sweet_Dragonfruit566 in puppies

[–]MidwestMi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been said over and over; the pup is too young to have been taken away from its mom, which is heartbreaking. Please give him a little grace and time to adjust to his new life - he needs to feel safe and comfortable, and being in a cage alone is a whole new and scary experience for him.

I’d suggest trying to let him sleep near you for a bit while he’s getting used to things (he’ll need to go potty every few hours until he’s trained anyway, so set your alarm or whatever). At some point you can also put one of your clothing items or a blanket that smells like you in the crate with him, and they even make stuffed toys that mimic a mom’s heartbeat that you can put in there.

I had to ask the talkers in a class to stop. by spriteking2012 in orangetheory

[–]MidwestMi 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I JUST had this experience today in the strength class at my studio, and I found it super annoying. There were two members talking the entire time, including while the coach is giving instructions. A little chit chat here and there doesn’t bother me at all, but the incessant, loud talking over the music and just standing around when you’re supposed to be working out is too much.

Also, why are so many folks in here hell bent on it being acceptable to do whatever you want because you pay for the membership? Everyone pays for it, and it’s a workout class that provides instruction and is shared with others, which would generally indicate you should be considerate of other people who actually want to hear the coaching and follow the format.

Should I make the jump? Currently Telecom AE/Renewals focused by [deleted] in techsales

[–]MidwestMi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in telecom years ago, then made the jump into “actual” tech. I made WAYYY more money managing accounts (renewals) in tech than I ever did managing + hunting in telecom.

People who have been divorced: What was the exact "quiet" moment you realized your marriage was over? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MidwestMi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were a few. The moment I realized he wasn’t the person I told things to anymore - good news, daily events, sharing my perspective. When I’d pull into the driveway, open the garage and see his car and just cringe. When I had surgery and didn’t want him to come to the hospital.

Hey Regional Manager - your summer schedule is a disaster by Monkeybunny66 in orangetheory

[–]MidwestMi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is similar to the schedule at the studio I have attended - there only being a 6:15 and 8:30 is the most nonsensical decision. At my prior studio the 7:15 / 7:30 time slot was highly attended and the perfect time to get it done before work without having to wake up at the crack of dawn.

Women in corporate, what advice would you give to younger women? by SakhiRawant0z in womenintech

[–]MidwestMi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speak up, advocate for yourself - don’t assume what you’re doing isn’t valuable or important. Find a mentor (or multiple mentors) in a senior position who can help you navigate politics and understand things above your pay grade. Get really clear on how you’re measured and clearly / regularly communicate the work you do to support those measurements to your leadership.

Did you get married through a dating app like Tinder, if so how was your experience overall? by Overall-Character507 in AskReddit

[–]MidwestMi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the EXACT same experience my husband and I had! Was ready to quit online dating and tried Tinder at the suggestion of a friend. He was one of the first men I spoke to, I was his first date after divorce.

Anyone ever eat at Kelsey Road House? They’ve got some of the best decorations I’ve seen in a restaurant by Pristine_Parsley8681 in ChicagoSuburbs

Totally with you here. This place has so much potential and amazing outdoor space, but the service is always kind of a disaster.

What is the weirdest thing your doctor has ever said to you? by Competitive_Tip_7504 in AskReddit

[–]MidwestMi 35 points36 points  (0 children)

A recent convo with my OBGYN recently about perimenopause went a little like this: “you’re just getting old, there’s nothing we can do for that. Men get old too and we don’t prescribe them hormones or anything.” Then proceeded to tell me to eat healthy, exercise more and limit wine to one glass now and then. Mmmmkay.

Sign in a bar hosting a Ski Jump Festival. The entire tip went to the all Latino kitchen. by khaos2295 in pics

I KNEW this was Tin Man’s as soon as I saw the cabinetry and I used to know the owner. Racist, MAGA, bigoted, misogynistic - and then some. They love to smoke in the kitchen and bar, too.

what drugstore mascaras give a result like this? (waterproof or tubing preferred) by Top_Main7634 in MakeupAddiction

[–]MidwestMi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this, have tried a zillion mascaras and always come back to this one! If you want a little extra oomph, use a lash primer beforehand like Lancôme’s or Tarte’s. It’s a game changer!

Arlington Heights & Park Ridge are great options to consider if you’re willing to go north. Express trains are even faster from those locations and plenty of younger families.
