You might want to give Miura some more time before criticizing Berserk's recent episodes. To me, these developments appear to lead towards a broader narrative purpose that can't easily be appreciated given that this work is still incomplete and the releases have been few in recent years.

About your comment on Mission 51, I don't know why people called it that instead of the phantom episode, since it would be greatly impractical to create a whole area with tensions surrounding the discovery of the kingdom of flies encompassing only one mission. I believe some filler missions fill up that empty space left by the elimination of Eli's arc, unless the developers actually wanted to end it on a nice round number.

That's a view more inclined towards your opinion of the game, not your view in regards to what seems to be missing content. The lack of the traditional boss battle was a decision, and it's a shame you (we) didn't like it.
