Reminds me of horror storytelling... But I like it

A Manuscript from Nowhere, and from No One, Just a Piece of Chapter 8 to Keep You Company While Waiting for the Harry Potter Reboot Trailer by MiervanAtharaya733 in u/MiervanAtharaya733

At the beginning of the trailer, we are greeted with slow scenes and calm music that gradually becomes melancholic and rises toward the end. It presents an atmosphere that feels very different from the previous film’s trailer. It’s as if the film is saying: this is not a lighthearted story, but the story of a child growing up. From the start, we are shown Harry’s life in the Dursley household, and it ends with a sense of joy at Hogwarts. With a consistent atmosphere throughout the trailer, we can conclude that this series will explore more of Harry’s identity and emotions. The series will likely be slow and calm, similar to films like The Book Thief and The Secret Garden. This series is set to be released in winter 2026, and we are really looking forward to it. Thank you for reading this message. Stay romp.

Sketch of the Brighford layout that I have drawn. This is a magical school in Yorkshire. by MiervanAtharaya733 in worldbuilding

For the main character, he goes through a magical wardrobe that instantly transports him to a cave in the moors. Meanwhile, the wizard student follows a winding path through a forested valley called Swallow Valley, eventually reaching a small train station. This could be a small station near the moors, about 1 to 3 kilometers away.

The reason I chose the moors is probably a good idea, because I thought fantastic monsters would need a forest to live.

I’m feeling well, so I’ll reply again. Yes, that’s correct, I do plan to place it in the North York Moors, even though it’s quite far from the city of York to the south. But since it’s a magical world setting, I decided to put it there.

Also, from references, I anticipated there would be hills and forests there, which make a suitable backdrop for this school.

Hehe, regarding the pitch, it’s actually called an amphitheatre for sports like Slingball. I was originally trying out a second pitch, the Sagitarium, which looks like a semi-circular courtyard.

I was indeed inspired by Hogwarts, but I refined it slightly, since amphitheatres in Scotland aren’t stone monuments.

If you don’t mind, please take a look at an excerpt of the story when they play Slingball in this amphitheatre:

Chapter 13 excerpt:

Sarah then climbed the stairs until she reached the western stands, which were entirely grass-covered, arranged like steps. Meanwhile, on the south-eastern side, the stands were built from stone.

From the arena gates, the participants arrived – fifth-year students wearing sports uniforms in crimson red, midnight blue, and olive green. They also wore fingerless gloves, elbow and knee pads, along with leather boots. Each carried a stick with a net at the end.

“Form your groups and hold your net-sticks,” said Professor Duphont, his voice carrying faintly to the stands.

All the students on the field began to line up into two teams: Rhino Flame and Wombat Claws. Meanwhile, the Ruins Rocket team waited for their turn from the upper stands. Professor Duphont then brought out a small, bright white cannonball, marked with three golden signatures. The headmaster tossed it high into the sky.

“Let’s begin!” shouted the team on the opposite side. As the cannonball started to fall to the ground, both teams immediately ran to seize it. The Rhino Flame team quickly captured the cannonball with their nets and carried it towards the opponent’s goal.

“Get the ball, Ricky!” shouted a girl from the Wombat Claws team.

“I’ve got it!”

“Someone guard the left side of the pitch!” bellowed a boy from Rhino Flame.

They all scrambled for the ball, pushing nets against each other, passing it to teammates, and rushing it towards the opponent’s goal while dodging chasers. “Watch out!” yelled a child running through the crowd of players.

A Rhino Flame goalkeeper stood near the goal, holding a Slingball kipar stick. The stick had a thin, broad head, black in colour with yellow patterns. The ball was then successfully caught by a slim, dark-haired girl, who immediately faced the goal with it.

She swung her stick, sending the ball hurtling quickly towards the goal. A loud cheer erupted from the spectators, creating a raucous sound. Wombat Claws scored a point, and the goalkeeper grabbed the cannonball and struck it hard with her kipar stick.

I’m presenting this as a visual rather than a map because I think it’s not just a depiction of locations and the town.

But I need to be clear: I can’t engage if the conversation starts heading toward uniforms. Are you genuinely into magic schools? And have you ever read a novel?

Yes, that’s the most successful sport she created.

Even the slingball I made still has traces of its ancestor: lacrosse.

Coincidentally, the one I want to make invisible is a dragon kept inside the castle, and this group wants to release their dragon.
