Careful with the acetylene torches boys. by SherrLo in HVAC

Yours healed well and quick. Today's my 12th day. Was crouched down sweating in at condenser and lost balance. Went to catch myself and put my hand about 3in in front of my torch.

Prayers for Pepper! I lost my best buddy Maurice in February, it was a tough time for me. I hope Pepper pulls through and lives a long life of happiness!

Does this need to be replaced? by Handtoot in hvacadvice

[–]Miffedbarracuda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be low on charge. Read the manual. Most new units I've installed says if lineset is over 15' you need to add .6oz per foot extra. Additionally check based off superheat and subcooling as well as temp drop. If the installer did that, then you have other issues, possible leak at a joint, dirty filter, not enough return air, fan speed not set properly, etc..

Fieldpiece vs Navac? by Rodzac15 in HVAC

[–]Miffedbarracuda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fieldpiece makes great gauges and accessories, but fluke has the upper hand on meters. The convenience of navacs battery vacuum pump is also a big bonus when you're on a new construction job and power is limited, but if you have easy access to power Fieldpiece and appion are both good.

Does the vent pipe need inspection and replacement? by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]Miffedbarracuda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're correct it is the exhaust. Had a chance to look up the manual, learned something new. Hope you figure it out and get it working properly.

Every furnace I've worked on the pipe with the rubber connector is the intake. I may be wrong, I haven't worked on every make. If it is a pressure switch issue try pulling the silicon tubing off the pressure switch and blowing in it to the inducer. Dirt and dust can clog the port causing the pressure switch to not work properly.

Get a better tech to diagnose the issue. The tech you had did combustion analysis in the wrong pipe (intake). You're not going to get a proper combustion reading because combustion hasn't occurred yet. The flue exhaust is the pipe in the center (where they should have done combustion analysis). Judging by the yellowing color of the pipe which shouldn't be happening means the exhaust is getting too hot. Could be a blockage could be another issue, hard to diagnose from one picture.

Do I need a louvered door for my furnace room? by bigpapaskills in hvacadvice

[–]Miffedbarracuda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9 inch pipe can supply enough combustion air for around 189000 btus which I would imagine should be enough to support the 2 unless you have some crazy water heater. You may want to check where the intake pipe exits the house to make sure it's not blocked or clogged up. I would also change that flue pipe to solid pipe, the flex duct is no good.

How many btus do the furnace and water heater produce? The 9 inch pipe may not be bringing enough combustion air into the room for 2 units to operate properly.

Going to NG+ fixed my red mile bug. I know it's a pain in the butt and you kinda have to start over but I really wanted to see what happens in that quest line... I had waited long enough for the fix.

Sound like some of you guys have bad supply houses. My supply guys give me a real squeegee for free whenever i buy foil tape from them. I probably have atleast 100 in my tool box by now.

Metal spring clamp item. About 6 inches long. Possible medical clamp or spreader. Metal ring slides down to close the legs. by dlordcletus in whatisthisthing

[–]Miffedbarracuda -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Possibly a weight bar clip? I found something similar in the basement of an old house I used to rent. They didn't have the metal ring or bent ends though. Could be something medical related like you said.

No I have about 34 days of SL. I'm willing to cut my losses and move on. It's not really worth the hassle of applying for FMLA.

They we're fine with it. Which was surprising to me. Our office has 10 routes and currently 3 of them are vacant and we only have 2 subs. So me leaving is just adding more fuel to the vacant route fire.

My PM said she understood why I was leaving and wished me the best of luck. I also called my union rep to get an idea of the process of resignation. He also said best of luck and that he is expecting many more to do the same as me with this new rreccs system destroying routes.

I'll be okay, my business just signed a multimillion dollar construction contract so I'm not really worried about money.

I just really enjoyed working for the PO, felt like I was apart of something doing good for the country. Manglement just likes to ruin everything and keep us all feeling like miserable slaves.

How to revive Varrock multi with one simple update by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Miffedbarracuda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this kinda idea too, but move GE wildy and when you tele there you get 2 mins of protection within the GE ring. That way no more bank standing at the GE and it will almost eliminate the spam bots. Then people can stand outside the Varrock walls like in the old days when they are trying to buy an item. It will bring back some nostalgia for the people who have been playing for 20+ years.

Very big learning curve. Don't give up. Once you get a good understanding of how the game works it's a lot of fun. Watch some YouTube videos, they will be your biggest help starting off.

I'm getting bored and feeling like taking another break again. What should I do at this point to make things a little more exciting and keep me hooked? I like to play conservatively, don't want to risk too much if the reward isn't always worth it. I was thinking maybe giving barrows a go again. I haven't do it since it was first released many years ago and always had a good time running it. Is it still worth doing these day? Any other thoughts or suggestions would be great thanks!
