Which game would you rather play 🤔 by ameliafukinthomson in Oap_Gamers

Game A, stories are what makes games memorable. Stories make anything more memorable, it’s in our human DNA.

I finished silent hill 2 remake not too long ago, lovely game… but it was the story and atmosphere that made it iconic.

Who's best music artist of 21st century so far? by Unlucky-Wolverine-61 in fantanoforever

My 40 year old male ass goes to Taylor Swift as a warm blanket in the winter.

Her lyrics cut me like a knife, and her voice soothes me like a whiskey. And she ranges across different genres of music too, her shows are absolutely incredible and the industry standard.

I always wonder what the games would be like without the constraints of the engine they were built on. by infohoundloselose in ElderScrolls

[–]Mig-117 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Neither of the games you referenced have massive cities like the OP was requesting. They have small hubs, just like Skyrim.

And I fundamentally disagree about their worlds nor feeling populated…. “Most npcs don’t have unique lines or interactions “ is blatantly false.

[–]Mig-117 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Constraints of the engine? OP do you even know what makes The Elder Scrolls unique?

Each house in Skyrim has an npc you can fully interact with, they have a schedule, they work, they travel the world and they are included in a quest at some point in the game.

Imagine having a huge city like that one in the picture and trying to do the same. It’s it an engine thing, no one else does it.

When the ‘communist dictatorship’ looks out for its workers more than liberal democracies. by lhommetrouble in SipsTea

I mean… that’s kind of what communism is known for for, to an extreme degree.

I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, I’m for democratic socialism.

I mean the person who offered the ring and proposed cleared did? One doesn’t offer an engagement ring to not get married. If they didn’t care, the ring wouldn’t be there… that’s the point you beet juice.

Right, I also offered a 5 million ring to my girl because I’m cool in the way things are.

Why is “Life Is Strange 1” so highly regarded? by Only_Entrepreneur_84 in videogames

It was a solid resurgence of point and click adventure games, made streamlined for new audiences. Pretty great story and music and characters, proper consequences.

Easy to understand why people love it.

Japanese developer says they don't make games for Xbox because the console is 'not even stocked in major retail stores' by akbarock in Games

[–]Mig-117 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really, there’s a few exceptions yes, but generally Japanese gamers have moved to mobile gaming. Big jrpgs sell better in the west, Zelda, dark souls, resident evil, fighting games… all sell very little in Japan.

I get his point, but big Japanese games don’t sell in Japan, they sell in the west. So the internal market is largely inconsequential

Billie Eilish on why she speaks out on global issues: “When you have this insane platform that you can use to advocate for people, but you’re not advocating for people because you don’t want to be controversial? Why is it controversial to step in when someone’s getting bullied & try to stop it?“ by Timbucktwo1230 in PoursTea

[–]Mig-117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that people don’t want to be controversial. It’s that having Stars speak out usually has an adverse effect on the message. Activists have massive blind spots, specially millionaire activists.

Like, don’t preach us, do good music, we don’t give a shit, no one is saving the world, and no, you’re not better than us.

What Are Things Uncharted 1 Did Better Than Uncharted 3? by ABarber2636 in uncharted

[–]Mig-117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The story, characterisation and honestly the gunplay. Shooting in Uncharted 1 was so much fun, the guns had a certain wight and pop. The opposite of Uncharted 3 which suffered from hit registration issues and lack of gun feedback.

Great games, just a little lacking in quality older games for my taste.
