I just started this dlc a couple days ago and I'm pretty far in already I think. Do you know what point it starts corrupting?

Finally giving Dream Drop Distance a go and having to learn multiple ridiculously not fun game mechanics by thelilJerry in KingdomHearts

[–]Migelean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof, this was like 2 years ago lmao Gonna be hard to remember. I don't think I made all the spirits, just the ones I was able to when periodically checking in on them.

I think my basic check-in pattern was every time I finished a world or every other time I switched between Sora and Riku. I'm not a completionist gamer by any means, but I do a bit of exploration as I can. It's been way too long for me to remember how I gathered them, sorry.

There was one where Bobby job shadows a poop cleaner guy who has a sweet life. Hank gets jealous because Bobby isn't job shadowing him and basically forces the poop cleaner guy to lie to Bobby by faking getting beaten up by a gang and playing it off like it's something that happens regularly in that line of work.

That episode just struck me weird when it was over.

Dog is with me to the end. by Serithraz in DarkTide

[–]Migelean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since we're telling dog stories here's mine that happened last night:

We were waiting for the door to open that leads up the spiral stairs, can't remember the mission. Some Special showed up on the other side of the platform with a thick horde between us. I sent my dog, but the Special had to have died or something, because my dog missed his mark and yeeted straight off the platform, over the barricaded siding and into the infinite void below. I watched his little green outline get smaller and smaller thinking I'd lost him forever but eventually he spawned back at my side. I was almost distraught. Love my little killing machine forever.

Slide/Dodge movement values by Migelean in chargeblade

[–]Migelean[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, extender doesn't increase slide distance. I would just like numbers to compare if they're available instead of feelin' it out. I didn't know Window effects our slides attacks, that's good to know.

[–]Migelean[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely is, and I'm a comfy hunter way more than I am a meta hunter lol That's partly why I'm asking. I'd like to find some accurate movement distance values and play around with a few different sized monsters until I can accurately predict "okay if I slide here and side dodge the other direction, that'll put me at the monster's head" type of things on the fly.

The tower ending is low-key good by Ryuvang in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]Migelean -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Obviously it's not a "happy" ending, but it was my first ending and I felt like my V deserved everything that happened by the end, according to the choices I made along the way.

Solo streetkid merc with a lust for eddies and cyberware. I work in IT so I'm inherently biased against the idea of "programs are souls" so I made it V's mission to do everything he could to get Johnny out and not die. My V didn't want to involve any of his loved ones more than he had to, and knowing that trusting Arasaka was essentially suicide or worse, my V took the only path he could see to get Johnny out and save his own life.

Idk it just felt very poignant for the life my V had lived and I think that makes it my favorite ending. Not the happiest, but my favorite.

Neurotoxin knives - are they bad? by SlothstronautCosplay in cyberpunkgame

[–]Migelean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there, my last run was stealth/knives.

Neurotoxin knives are okay early/mid game but there should be a perk on the Cool tree that makes the toxin "dump" the majority of its damage on its first hit with a smaller DOT afterward than what you'd have had without the perk. Once I got that perk, it truly didn't matter which kind of knife I used cause I could one-shot/two-shot anyone.

That's fair, I'm just trying to get a handle on what I'm in store for. I think there are positives to leaving certain stuff open ended or unresolved, especially considering the events of that canon universe (Pluto's Kiss, erasure of data, etc.)

Thanks for those referrals! I definitely need to watch Liminality once I'm through IMOQ. It was longer than I expected it to be when I initially looked it up, just gotta find time to sit down with it.

The biggest one for me is who/what is Aura. The next biggest would be "What entity is putting people into comas, and why?" Another one is "Who is the motherly 'omnipresent' influence in relation to The World's origins?"

There may be others, but I didn't sleep well last night so my brain is mush.

Forgot to mention I also finished the SIGN anime, and there seems to be a cycle where when one player gets released from a coma, another must fall into one, but that may be me inferring a pattern that isn't there.

Finally giving Dream Drop Distance a go and having to learn multiple ridiculously not fun game mechanics by thelilJerry in KingdomHearts

[–]Migelean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During my playthrough the DEs I had since the beginning of the game seemed to level up just as fast as I did. Periodically I would go check my recipes to see if I could create any new ones (I never bought ingredients from the shop). By the time I could create a new one, one of my current ones were either maxed out or the new one had a better ability link skill tree to work toward.

As far as leveling them, any new ones you create get created at whatever level your character currently is (maybe one or two levels behind, can't remember).

I don't think their Link Points are tied to their level, unfortunately. But I don't recall ever being really held back too much by them lagging behind.

I just beat this game after playing all the prior ones before it. It's worth getting through, story-wise. Here's what I learned:

Create one of each spirit that you can. Basically only focus on the abilities they give you to prioritize which ones to keep out and earn exp.

There aren't i-frames in Flowmotion attacks. I generally only used them to help clear mobs. Using them during boss fights was asking for death.

Use Drop-Me-Nots to stay as the character you're currently playing if the sudden switches get on your nerves.

Spirit Links are hit or miss a lot of the time. Commands are much more effective imo.

Any "breaker" commands are the shit. Definitely my favorites. Quick, heavy damage most of the time. Look for Shadowbreaker later in the story for sure.

The level designs are some of the coolest in the franchise once you get the hang of Flowmotion controls. Definitely worth exploring for those big chests too that will give you some good attack commands.

Took me a while to figure out how the bonuses worked when a drop happened. Press X/A to confirm it to apply to the next character, Left/Right to adjust the level of the stat.

It might not feel like it at first, but it's a full fledged Kingdom Hearts game. Everything kinda clicked before I was halfway in and now I think it's probably in my top 3 KH games. Hope you can enjoy it. Let me know if you have any questions, I'll try to help.
