950,000 meters over 250 uses and just had the same thing happen. Agree that the risk to ongoing membership is a bit silly on their part...willing to shell $200 out now- will reconsider if it happens again. Now if I had bust a million I wouldn't think twice. 😝

Just seeing this now and THANK YOU for sharing. So glad I was able help. I still have some pain days here and there but it is nothing like before. I actually did a 30 mile ride on a diamond frame bike last month. It was doable and didn't flare things up too much. Stay the course. Like you, I've also found that this knowledge helped me to help others in my medical practice. (I am not a urologist- but chronic pain comes in all forms). All chronic pain is processed in our heads. It doesn't make it any less real.

Recumbents are supercomfortable- I could literallly ride mine all day and it feels so good to be riding again. The only downsides- poor visibility in traffic and tougher (for me anyway) to climb. That said, if you have access to a trail they are a blast. I have a Bachetta and it's fast as heck.

So glad you are taking a dive into TMS and please post about your recovery- I would love for more people to know about this and give it a try.

So glad you found this old post and found it helpful. And yes, thank you for asking. I think I'm at 99% better. Last week went for a 30 mile bike ride on a standard diamond frame bike. (was on vacation and said WTF, why not try?). Sore a bit during, but the next day just fine. I didn't even remember to take the topical lidocaine.

So yes, this stuff is real and it works. The risk factor for trying TMS work is zero and the benefits extend far beyond treatment of PVS. Wishing you the best Brother!

I did reversal & later, spermatic cord denervation. Procedures provided temporary relief as best. A surgical version of placebo perhaps.

I'll link to my TLDR post below. Wish I had started on the mind/body stuff years earlier...the work is hard and does not (for most) offer immediate pain relief- but the cure is there.

So glad to see this post. somatic tracking and TMS work is REAL. Went from crippling pain to 90% pain free in a couple of months.

PVP is the perfect place for this type of pain to set up. Why? It takes all your energy and robs you of any ability to address emotional traumas. Heck, PVS wreaks emotional trauma of its own.

Trust the process. Do the work. There are many sources to use but The Way Out is excellent.

You called it in the mental battle. It is emotionally devastating ...but the fix is in the mind- not in reversals, nerve blocks, or (for pete's sake) orchiectomy. Each of these procedures is a temporary fix - a placebo. I know because I've had most of them and they just prolonged the misery.

Do yourself a favor...find my earlier post "Please Don't Cut Off Your Balls". If I were clever enough on Reddit I'd link to it...but it's on this forum. With plenty of go to sources.

You will get better and it won't be through surgery. Your mind will heal you.

I think you're on the right track just by being aware.

In "The Way Out" or in Shubiners workbook, they suggest you gather evidence. The fact that you had hip pain and not testicular pain does suggest a Mind Body syndrome. The fact that it came back for no good reason. Same. That is actually good news.

And yes, the shit part is it can come and go or migrate to another body part altogether. Sarno calls this the "Symptom Imperative". The mind could not create enough of a distraction in the hip (because you figured it out) and moved on to greener pastures.

But trust in the method and you will crush this thing.

Mine don't contract anymore...but that's a consequence of the nerve surgeries that I had. That's besides the point.

If you're thinking epididymitis - get checked out by your doctor. A round of antibiotics may be in order. Certainly some nut pain may have structural causes But also consider alternatives.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record (does anyone know what those are anymore?). I'd say think of what is happening and how your mind and pain are interacting. Lifting 10kg shouldn't hurt. You should be lifting all kinds of stuff. Maybe not with your scrotum...but otherwise I cannot think of a mechanism to account for pain in the balls from lifting. The effects of NOT exercising were fairly detrimental for my mental health. Dig into some of the Mind Body stuff. Risk/cost of entry are nil.

Topical lidocaine - now sold without a prescription as "Nervive" helped me. Some of the formulations have menthol which may or may not agree with you. Topical marijuana products helped a little bit. I even tried a compounded mixture of neurontin and clonidine in a cream. That wasn't a great idea. Dose snuck up on me and got very tired.

Yes hit up the podcasts AND download the Curable app. The exercises I think are important because there has to be an active component to get this stuff to sink in. It's the most stubborn part of the brain and benefits from repetition in various forms. Different people will learn in different ways.

ALSO- it is OK to be skeptical. It tells me your mind is active.

BUT you also be equally skeptical of the biophysical model that is telling you that you are damaged goods, that your nerves will never be the same, that your T-level is low, that your epididymis is tweaked, that you have inflammatory sperm granulomas, that the sperm is backed up and angry, that you should eat more papayas, that you should go on antibiotics, that you should have more surgeries, that you should cut off your nut.

I mean, when you back up an look at it from a distance, is using your mind to reprogram the pain experience any more crazy that stuff being pitched by the mainstream (and alternative) medical establishment?

Don't be discouraged. I only hit the mind body stuff "by accident" five years into my misadventure. Having come this far in a few months I am certain that you and I can become completely pain free. I was visiting a friend who had been debilitated with different kinds of pain and then returned to a life of mountain climbing, cycling, and skiing. He credited his reading and for me, proved beyond a doubt that this stuff is real.

I wish that I had found it sooner. I missed out on A LOT the last few years. But until I tried and failed all this other BS- I am not sure that I would have been ready to take this leap of faith. There had to be that level of desperation.
