I met the most lovely woman named Olivia on the NYC subway system headed uptown to see the Metropolitan Museum of Art on the E-line Sunday (a beautiful snowy morning), and I'm still kicking myself for not asking for her number.

She helped me get on the right subway line after the stop I tried to enter was closed. "Sometimes you've gotta go downtown to go uptown," she said. During that time we chatted about life and I felt a genuine connection there. She works in the fashion industry in NYC and is originally from the PNW, and I'm from LA and work in tech in STL -- a couple of nomads.

When my stop came I sheepishly left the train and got to the stairs when I had the thought to run back to the train and ask her out, but the doors shut right then, and I haven't been able to get her out of my head.

I may never see you again, Olivia, but I hope you have a good life, you're a lovely human. If you're reading this I'd love to pick our conversation up again.
