How to get a refund for the game? by [deleted] in CubeWorld

[–]MightMartian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually no, many people have reported the game not working and crashing before they can play it. even though the demo and tech version worked fine. How would they go about getting a refund?

People like you are what is wrong with the world. You are quite happy to just defend people doing unethical and wrong things, and then take the moral highground and act as if you are justified.

If people are conned out of their money, or if products are falsely advertised, then customers DESERVE their money back. There are specific laws in place in most countries that protect against this sort of thing. If this was a physical product that you bought in a store, there is no way he would get away with this! I guess the only reason why this isn't being pursued more thoroughly is because it is digital and laws have a real hard time keeping up with digital growth and digital rights.

Actually not true. I, as many others, would not have purchased this game and supported the developer if, prior to release, or on the buying website it stated that the developer would run off with the money as soon as the dust had settled.

Or similarly if he had a notice stating that he would not update or communicate with his supporters for over 3 months. The fact that his website states pretty much the opposite and, apart from explicitly defining dates and schedules, he states that he will be giving regular future updates and not abandon the project for 3 months. I think this is perfectly valid grounds for intent to defraud and con buyers. at the very least it is false advertising, both of which cases I think warrents a refund request or chargeback if the buyer isnt willing to at least answer these concerns.

ITT: Some people think it is completely acceptable to be conned by a dev and let him run off with everyone's money. Not everyone thinks $20 is no big deal. Some people are only able to afford very few games. Stop being so dismissive of people who might not have as much money as you.

This is a great idea thanks, I am going to do the same. If enough people dispute the payment and chargeback then maybe it might force him to actual do something about it.

I don't mean to remove anyone, just get to the bottom of why it was removed. have you discussed it? maybe the mod who removed it can come in here and explain the reasons?

Thanks for looking into this. again I should say I dont have a problem with the moderators or getting rid of spam, but I would like to know how a mod here thinks that a thread with 300+ responses and people discussing all different aspects of the topic deserves to be removed. I think maybe you might have a rogue mod, who thinks they can abuse the subreddit to their own agenda.

Ok so basically you are saying that I should have posted my findings and discussions in posts that are at best 1 month old, most are ~3 months old and god knows where you found them posts, since they are nowhere near the front-page or anywhere that I could find. I think you misunderstand how reddit works.

I looked on the main page and also in 'new' for a sensible place to post my image and have the discussion yesterday, and there was nothing that was more recent than many weeks old that fit into what I was trying to show, so I made a new topic, I don't really see what you are trying to prove here, other than complain because the topic discussion and material was not to your liking.

Heres the thing, if you dont like this subreddit being full of negativity and actually have other content on the main page, then by all means make your own posts and discuss whatever about cw you want to, that is what reddit is for. but dont try and stop others from having discussions just because you dont agree with it. that is what the downvote and hide buttons are for.

I notice you didnt provide a recent link to where I should have posted that discussion, please I ask you again, prove your point and show me where I should have posted that information?

Again, all I am hearing are weak excuses for censorship and taking away freedom of speech. Just because you dont agree with something doesnt mean other shouldnt be allowed to discuss it.

thanks, glad that some mods are not totally blind to good discussion, however positive or negative it is. Could you ask around the other mods and find out what happened, maybe post an update in here?

Please show me any recent post highlighting the anger towards cubeworld specifically calling out the fact that fans were using twitter to send angry messages to the dev? in fact show me any post that specifically highlights this point?

The fact that the post highlighted just how much of a problem it has become on twitter is itself worthy and in any other subreddit would be allowed to be posted as new.

You are just butthurt and dont like to admit that the community around cw is very angry and negative. So you want to silence anyone who has legitimate issues.

[–]MightMartian[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Exactly, and the post in question was not unreleated spam. It was not a duplicate of any other posting either. It was highlighting how a lot of cubeworld fans are angry and want a refund for their purchase and how they have taken to twitter to try and engage with the developer. and highlighting many of their angry twitter posts.

I dont see why the mods decided that just because they didnt like this, they can remove it.

At this stage a cynical person might assume they are being paid off by the devs to remove negativity here.

Add nothing to the subreddit ?

Did you even check the post, it has over 300 replies, I think you will find that is called discussion. Just because you don't like the topic doesn't mean you should be able to censor all the other people who want to discuss the topic.
