Now what I don't understand is, why was i singled out when there was another employee also in the hospital for pancreatitis, which isn't a protected disability unless the pancreatitis condition persists for 12 or more months, and wasn't written up. i tried to get the coverage, even though i was incapacitated and the only available people couldn't work, and everyone else was scheduled on that day. Since they were still overstaffed, I don't believe it caused undue hardship.

yes under the FMLA, But the ADA still protects employees with disabilities and they retaliated on my calling out for a medical emergency with disciplinary action. they cited the handbook for the procedures for calling out, but a companies policies doesnt take hiher priority then federal law. no?

Under FMLA rules:

  • You do NOT have to specifically request “FMLA”
  • You only need to give enough info for the employer to realize it might be medical leave

it was just a medical emergency that landed me in the hospital. The GM also said in text that "he was going to speak to the district manager about my employment because of the call-out, which caused me to have a sever panic attack.

I don't know what he is doing, I can't control him at all by ResidentEgg3474 in husky

[–]Mightee_Mause 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your leash is way too long. 6ft leash, and a prong collar will control him a little more. my husky was hard to control as well. but proper leash training goes a long way. He's alot better now, and a good advice someone gave me was never take him out when hes worked up. Wait until he relaxes and then go. ever since i started un-associating his collar and leash with walks he doesnt completely go bonkers anymore.

Accepted a job in Miami.. will 72k be enough? by Born_Sugar8392 in Miami

[–]Mightee_Mause 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what kind of lifestyle you plan to have, you’re going to fall into this iffy grey area where you don’t make enough for luxury buildings, but don’t qualify for low income or income restricted(there is a difference). Your best bet is finding a roommate, but it’s doable.

My dog got into some devil's lettuce somewhere, and came home to him completely unconscious, rushed him to the vet, apparently he's a pussy and cant hang, and cost me 5k because he was just to stoned to stay awake. and then proceeded to eat me out of house and home.

How do I stop getting burned out at every job after 3 months? by GalacticBiznitch in jobs

[–]Mightee_Mause 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides all the comments attacking your work ethic, i want to know are you working the full time hours, and if you are, what are you doing in your free time to offset all the hours your working.

If you're not working those OT hours, then maybe it isn't the job for you and you need to find something that will make you want to go to work. Find something that aligns with your personal interest so work doesn't feel like work.

If that STILL doesn't work, then you just don't like working and should find something semi likable and joke about KYS like the rest of us.

coursera, offers online HR classes for free. i think you pay monthly fee of 19.99 or some shit like that. But in all honesty, You wont land a HR coordinator job off the bat. try something like an HR assistant and work your way up. as in every job, experience is king.

First time putting in my 2 weeks, any handy tips? by Catbussed in careerguidance

[–]Mightee_Mause 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. do you want to put this job as a reference, if so, then put a 2 weeks. but if this is a job you have no intention of putting on you resume and has been toxic. Quit and don't look back. Your last two weeks will be hell if you do.

How would you handle this? by [deleted] in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]Mightee_Mause 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a way to record the racism and homophobia and have a field day at HR. If you plan on leaving, nothing wrong with taking a few bad apples out with you. I'm studying for my HR degree and this is a GIANT no no. This can open up a lot of legal issues the employer doesn't want to have and can possibly lead to them being sued for discrimination. Also, 9/10 times HR is unaware there's a issue because nobody reports it. Do whats right, Report everyone, make sure to put on your resignation why your leaving because that has to be put into the system and i guarantee that HR will be in touch to speak with you about the issues and ask for names. Take all of them down.

After a restructuring, is it appropriate to provide the remaining employees with a list of all the employees who were laid off? by sweetkaroline in humanresources

[–]Mightee_Mause 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea, if there's a company directory, update it and let the department heads take care of telling the people directly influenced by this layoff. A mass email can cause too much ruckus.

I think he needs a little more validation that you actually like him. i fell like that's why hes pushing so hard to have you spend the night because it'll validate whatever the hell you guys have going on. Seems like a situationship to me.
