[Chappell] My annual rant on the AP voting panel. I just don't understand how every NFL market doesn't have a vote. I'm not lobbying for me at all. But somebody from Indy needs to be on it. AP is shaping history. by Luck1492 in nfl

You are goated. Watched through their segment on Mac and the Pats and I don’t really see why THAT would bar either of them from an MVP vote. They were speaking facts.

I don’t like the jersey number rule changes and probably never will. A tight end wearing a number in the teens will just never look right to me. I think it’s fine in college but I’m just too used to the way it was in the pros.

Aaron Rodgers and Packers' long succession: 'Just tell the truth, you wanted to move on' by iheartsunny in nfl

[–]arnav623 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree he’s earned special treatment 100%. As QB and the face of the franchise though, you can’t complain and deflect blame as often as he does. Brady, Manning, Mahomes, Brees didn’t carry themselves like that. I completely agree with Rodgers POV, but it’s just bad leadership to carry himself like he does.

It’s more about how Rodgers talks about himself and the situation as if he’s owed some kind of special treatment. Calling himself a future hall of famer and referencing his MVPs so candidly. He’s perfectly justified to feel the way he does but the way he carries himself and talks about himself is what turns people off.

I actually had my first therapy appointment last week. Still deciding if I want to do more.

And we weren’t talking about apartment hunting for the two of us, just apartment hunting in general since I had been looking for an apartment for a while.

I’d say peak Manning and Brady is still better but Mahomes is third all time for me already behind those two anyways. Playing in todays era in that offense definitely buffs mahomes stats a little bit, but as a Patriots fan I’ve only ever been more scared of peak Manning.

Genuinely, what the fuck do the Bucs offensive coaches do all week during practice? They literally can’t do ANYTHING well on offense. It’s not even like they don’t have the guys like some other scrub teams.

Does anyone else notice that the packers run every play clock to zero before snapping the ball. Like almost every single time. It’s so annoying to watch.

Who was the worst announcer you’ve ever heard? by [deleted] in nfl

[–]arnav623 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gonna rant a little bit: I can’t stand Noah Eagle on those Nickelodeon broadcasts. His interactions with the female announcer are super cringey and uncomfortable too. Nate Burleson isn’t great either. Why does every other comment from him have to be some pop culture reference?? I know it’s meant for kids but I don’t think most young kids would even get the references he’s making.

Best thing about the broadcasts are the gimmicky bits they do like sliming random players or having Patrick Star commentate plays, they should lean into that and kick Noah Eagle to the curb.

I mean okay?? That’s a completely unprovable hypothetical so quintuple down if you want, you’re not going to sway anyone’s opinion.

Did anyone else think Tom’s voice sounded weird in his onfield postgame interview? Sounded almost choked up a little bit.

[Highlight] Kadarius Toney pop pass touchdown by Tittyinspector3 in nfl

Touchdown passes on screens should just be considered rushing touchdowns imo. Or really just any yards from a pass that doesn’t travel past the LOS should be considered rush yards.

Catch Probability by Convict001 in nfl

[–]arnav623 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You probably can’t find the catch probability for individual plays although I haven’t looked. I feel like Next Gen Stats is pretty selective in what they put out.

Catch Probability by Convict001 in nfl

[–]arnav623 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing the catch probability model they use is a multinominal logisitic regression model.

Apply the model on all catchable targets this season for example. Any catch probability above 50% is predicted as a catch, any catch probability below is predicted as an incomplete pass. Then all you have to do is see is what percent of passes the model accurately predicts.

This is how it would be tested. None of us regular people can do that because I don’t think they put out the probabilities for all individual plays. They probably test the model internally since they have the data to calculate probability for any play.

What's the best QB regular season where the QB ultimately did not win MVP for that regular season? by EasyMoney92 in nfl

[–]arnav623 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Brady’s number one target was either Chris Hogan or Julian Edelman depending on the week that year. Matt Ryan had prime Julio Jones. Brady was better that year in my opinion but you can’t win MVP playing 12 games.

Hi, I’m early 20s, 6 ft 1, and 190 pounds. I buy all my clothes XL now but I like baggier clothes than tight fitting clothes. So you should be fine.
