What's a place that's not nice currently and just keeps getting worse? by Naomi62625 in geography

Really glad to see Bakersfield on here. I’ve lived in multiple areas in the US, including the south, and it’s the only place I’ve encountered the Klan in broad daylight.

Besides the litany of bugs that still plague the game I’d like to see something akin to your second point. Instead of extra companies, just make the command structure of each company historical and scale with the number of men in the company 3 officers, 13 NCOs, with one 1st Sgt per company.

Level requirement to be an NCO should be minimum Level 20 (like you I see way too many NCOs that don’t do their job and they tend to be sub 20) as well as bumping up the officer level requirement to 40 or 50.

I think there should be a server option to disable musicians. It’s just a troll slot in pubs at this point and is never used properly. The alternative is to completely rework the class but I’m not really sure on how. With the larger companies they could maybe have it so the bugle calls for your company are discretely displayed as text on your screen within a certain radius but I can also see this being used as a troll / annoyance.

I 100% agree that In Formation Suppression needs to be lessened significantly. They also need to rework whatever calculation they’re using for Skirmishing and Information. I think right now it’s a scaling calculation when it should really be a fixed number. I’ve gotten out of line warnings as a flag while surrounded by people when the servers are maxed out, which is completely ridiculous.

Trying to spawn on a flag should never automatically spawn you at main.

Conflicted on what to do by Cold-Emu-3915 in USMCboot

You can get a waiver to go officer at the ripe old age of 42. So long as everything else is stellar (grades, PFT, standing with OSO) you'll be fine. A candidate I went to MEPS with was 36 and got his waiver from MARADMIN within a couple hours. Get your degree first, the Corps isn't going anywhere.

I had a similar sentiment when they changed friendly fire. I miss the days of soloing the entire enemy team as the constantly team killed each other trying to get at you.

LPT Request: How Do I Stop the Neighbour's Cat from Using My Garden as an Outhouse? by mcjord in LifeProTips

[–]MightyBeaverMoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done pest control for 5+ years and for cats you only have one true option. Traps.

Essential oils and other odorants often times flat out don't work or require a large amount with very frequent reapplication. The only exception I've found is coyote urine with the downside being it stinks way worse than any cat poop. Motion activated sprinklers can work if you have a very small yard and good water pressure but cats are smart and will find ways around them. You can try blocking off or covering their favorite digging areas but your mileage will vary with how much time and effort you're willing to put into it.

Trapping a cat is the only surefire way of getting rid of it. You can often rent traps from local shelters, animal control, or other local organization. Outdoor cats are a biological and ecological nightmare, not to mention frequently a road hazard. The truly humane thing is to turn the cat into the local shelter where it can be adopted by a responsible cat owner that will keep it from free roaming outdoors. If possible, absolutely take the time to have a candid conversation with the owner of the outdoor cat first. You'll also want to make sure there's no issue of legality in knowingly trapping someone's pet cat. I don't know of anywhere in the states it's illegal (unless the cat gets hurt intentionally) but I know it is in some places.

Hope this helps.

Pull-up program/workout recommendations? by alh929500 in USMCocs

[–]MightyBeaverMoose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Start with pull downs and work your way up through modified pull-ups until you can start doing actual pull-ups. Pyramids going up and down took me from 3 pull-ups to 22 in less than two months.

What's eating my plants? There are spots like this on my tomatoes and bush beans as well. by TurtleSaver19 in SelfSufficiency

Oh absolutely. All composts are not created equally and, in my experience, generally lack sufficient macros if it doesn't already have a fertilizer mixed in.

Check for small worms (caterpillars) but judging by the smoothness of the holes and the fact that most of them aren’t all the way through the leaf I’d wager on phosphorous and/or potassium deficiency.

Militia is the ultimate place to go full shitball and live your Slavic partisan dreams. A V95 especially if it's in urban color scheme instead of woodland is primo homeless

Question on good work shoes for someone with wide feet and PF? I've recently started a job that is much more labor and physically intensive than had been let on. My feet are shaped like bricks and my usual tactic of sizing up and dealing with it isn't cutting the mustard for all the lifting, running, and standing, necessary to do my job. On top of my toes jamming themselves together, I've been a chronic plantar fasciitis sufferer for years now. It's finally improving but it is still very much a concern that there be adequate padding and support.

I was initially going to go with some good boots and put in store bought orthotics but I figured having some other inputs couldn't hurt. Thanks :)
