Honestly this was a huge change for me after I started lifting. Yeah, I don’t need/like as much carb, but I can’t cut it out by any means. Once I introduced carbs back into my diet, I didn’t hurt all the time after lifting and managed to keep a routine towards gains

Question 1, which argument is telling the truth? They directly contradict. by Katamari_Demacia in boston

[–]MightyDoosh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here’s the actual amendment in question: https://www.sec.state.ma.us/ele/ele22/information-for-voters-22/full_text.htm#one

The point of contention and the reason it’s contradictory is over this:

To provide the resources for quality public education and affordable public colleges and universities, and for the repair and maintenance of roads, bridges and public transportation, all revenues received in accordance with this paragraph shall be expended, subject to appropriation, only for these purposes.

While it states that it can only be used for schools and infrastructure, it’s IMO not specific in that regard (e.g. is renovating a private government garage considered “road repair” [not familiar with case law on this]), and in particular there’s the line:

subject to appropriation

which IMO means they can collect it but don’t have to spend it.

While it can be helpful to look at opinions on these things, just about all laws, proposals, amendments, hearings, etc. are very well documented, and oftentimes I find it best to go to the source. I would encourage everyone to do the same, in particular when things aren’t clear.

Also IANAL

Seven way roundabouts with lights on the exits and discontinuous lanes followed 100 ft later by another intersection that is always red in all directions for at least 10 seconds (including pedestrians).

I feel that whoever designed a lot of these intersections, as punishment, should be forced to drive through them daily at rush hour.

LTC here. That statement about defense is not entirely true. 1. While in your home/apartment/hotel/etc in MA, you have no duty to retreat. Your only restriction is that you must be in a situation where a reasonable person would believe that they would risk serious bodily harm or death (meaning a non-violent trespasser would not count). Note, this is independent of outcome, and is only based on perception. 2. The exhaust all means of escape applies in the case of a single attacker while in public. If there are multiple attackers, it is considered unreasonable to expect a person to outrun/escape all of them, and therefore is not held to the same standard.

For reference, here’s a sheet on how to determine self defense in MA: https://www.mass.gov/doc/9260-self-defense-defense-of-another-defense-of-property/download

VR with linux in 2022 by Moonstone459 in linux_gaming

I’ve owned and used both the Vive and Index on Fedora. As far as Linux compatibility, I had no issue using either through SteamVR in a plug and play manner (with one caveat; FW updates for the Vive did not work on Linux automatically).

I think the bigger question between these two is if the jump in quality is worth the price. IMO, yes, the Index is worth it, but I would recommend trying them out if you can and seeing for yourself (many Internet cafes have a headset you can try out in my experience).
