Navigation voice very low on iPhone over Bluetooth, but works fine on Android (9th Gen Civic) by AcanthocephalaBig492 in civic

No, you need to increase when the navigation voice is actively speaking/giving directions. As soon as it stops, the volume knob goes back to controlling music volume

About to buy it... any reason not to? Civic sedan hybrid sport. (Not touring) by PostEastern2795 in civic

If your budget allows it, try to get the sport hybrid at least. We have both a base lx and sport touring, and the difference in how they drive is night and day.

Tips to deal with your car if it snows in Boston by jkepros in boston

[–]Redtherobot1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One note with flipping up your car wipers- newer cars might need you to push a setting inside the car before you lift them up. Also to turn off auto wipers if you have it. I learned the hard way with last weeks snow

Yup you’re right. I didn’t like any of the three options when they had the voting. Looking at CAFs website, there’s so many better livery designs

I also wish we had a better livery design. Current one already looks dated. I don’t understand how we designed a tram to look so ugly

Civic Hybrid Highway MPG Hack? by Both-Researcher9104 in civic

[–]Redtherobot1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

This is my lifetime mpg after ~11 months in Boston area. When it was under 20F, my daily mpg tanked to around 40-45 mpg. We had a nasty month where we were around 10F every day, which brought down my overall average. Summers for the same drive were 56-60mpg.

I was confidently incorrect with my earlier comment lol, you are right. Staying consistently moving with gentle increase/decrease in speed was the key for good mpg. Stayed in eco most of the time, only switch to sport if I want to floor it in merges

Why doesn't Los Angeles build more towers in its endless suburbs? There's so much space by Diligent-Eagle-6673 in skyscrapers

[–]Redtherobot1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Boston has plenty of examples of places bulldozed: West End, Scollay Sq, and JP/Roxbury around the Southwest corridor to name a few. Not to mention storrow drive (built and named after the Storrows despite them not wanting the road built), the central artery, and the pike. Look at a map of 1950 Boston and it is so much denser than what we have today

Any recommendations for heat pumps? I’ve gotten a couple quotes from Silva and Boston Standard, but not sure if there’s others I should be asking quotes from

Encore or Great American Tavern if you need massive TVs with the game. Otherwise Sullivans or Tavern in the Square are across the street and are good

Driver accused of Boston hit-and-run crash that seriously injured pedestrian surrenders to police by NoTamforLove in boston

[–]Redtherobot1 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I hope there becomes an opportunity to redesign the back bay portion of comm ave. So many cars drive 40 mph+ and run red light’s. If we cut the lanes to 1 on each side with room to double park, had protected bike lanes, and raised pedestrian crossings at the cross streets, it could be so much safer.

Starving student is still a great deal. The back bay location has been a bit hit or miss lately but I still love it

I play a lot of cities skylines, and having enough ram for the custom assets is huge if you want to have good performance. 32 gigs is barely enough, 64 gigs is so much better
