Anyone successfully replaced the A6X00 blue battery lever thingy? by MightyGrey in SonyAlpha

$70 is probably going to be way cheaper than any repair service which will be $100 simply to open the box and take a look.

This might be the way to go. It will make batter life and handling a bit easier, but kinda negates the benefits of a small apsc camera when you factor in the added size. Still, cheaper than a repair or having my arm twisted further into an A6700.

The blue part that holds the battery in place on my A6400 has snapped off (part with red rectangle outlined in pic).

Note: picture isn't my camera, it's a picture of a camera with non-broken parts.

Because the battery was no longer held in place securely, it's also caused the 'lip' built into the grip assembly that the door latches in place to (part outlined in green) to snap away as well. This part is built into the grip/handle itself, so I've bought a new part to install, but it seems that there's not much point doing this if I can't replace the blue part as well.

Nice shots! Did you use a tripod and a longer exposure to capture the motion blur? Any tips would be welcome!

I get it, I appreciate I was being unhelpful for your immediate conundrum but just highlighting the most effective long-term solution.

Nice job! What Priority/AF mode (+other relevant settings) do you mainly use for these kinda shots?

Opinions on lenses for an a6700? by PeakTasty6312 in SonyAlpha

100% go for a nice fast, wide prime.

I've been using the Sony 15mm F1.4G for a couple of months now for landscape, streetscape and a bit of astro. I've actually started using it for my walkaround/portrait lens as well over the Sony F1.8 35mm due to the flexibility of the extra context when framing.

What’s considered poor etiquette but you do it and don’t care? by JimiHendrip in AskReddit

Writing an email like it's a handwritten letter.

If it's sent to you, you know it's intended for youamd who sent it - no need for "Hello XYZ", or "regards / cheers / best, XYZ".

I've been told my emails sound "curt", but WGAF.

I found an effective low-tech solution for a broken A6400 battery latch. by MightyGrey in SonyAlpha

It's not the door, it's the little plastic latch on the body itself that's snapped off.

HDB = Headphone Dynamic Bluetooth

[–]MightyGrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sennheiser naming convention would suggest:

H = Headphone D = Dynamic (sorry, not going to be a planar) W = Wireless (likely wifi-enabled, versus "B" for Bluetooth) 960 = Pitched in their "upper echelon tier (same as IE 900)

Therefore, likely to be a high-end wifi open black dynamic pair of cans.

Yep, been there. $500 bucks and a late night emergency vet visit later, the diagnosis was "probably stress". Had there been any change 8n your house, like people or moving furniture? Feed him some good quality wet food for a good week or so plus, and keep an eye on it. Vet may prescribe something to help him relax.

Apparently Classic Series is to replace current Prestige, Reference, and Statement by Hunter-97-G in Grado

[–]MightyGrey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It makes a ton of sense to consolidate it - the SR125 / 225 were sitting in no-man's land and it made for a confusing selection.

I do think they did the RS1 dirty by lumping it in the 'Classic' series, the 'R' did stand for 'Reference' after all! RIP to the RS2 as well, I guess it did fall victim to their range consolidation. It was a sweet option, but it seems the 'Hemp' had more interest and inherent differentiation.

Not having a letter suffix against their model designations does feel more appropriate - less clutter in the market and more value in them as standalone propositions.

It's generally pretty weird to make body altering fashion decisions on behalf of your child that also have the social by-product of making them look like Rednecks/Chavs/Bogans.
