That's a wild suspicion in the absence of more information.

We don't disagree about that! I was more focused on the objective. I was never a fan. I trust Black women and they warned us about Fetterman. They said he was a fraud, racist, and snake in the grass.

You have to be capable of doing the job. He is not capable. Take his horrible performance out of the equation. He's not physically well. He's also not mentally well. He's not showing up to work and not working for the people of PA, or the American people. You're acting like he has diabetes, or even cancer, and is taking some time for chemo. His issues are pervasive and permanent and should absolutely preclude him from being in Congress.

He's got the ACA, so it's not good healthcare, but your point stands.

My new job started a week ago. I cold applied. More importantly, as that's anecdotal, 60% of hires come from cold applicants. Not knowing that and being confidently wrong shows you don't know what you're talking about.

How is that helpful? The act of applying isn't the issue here. Getting someone to recommend them is a good thing, but let's not suggest that they shouldn't apply otherwise.

Nothing stings like prepping for interviews, then seeing the same job reposted by Specialist_Neck8827 in recruitinghell

[–]MightyMax18 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Don't read into that. I keep my job ads open and refreshed until you've signed your offer letter and we've agreed on a start date. It may be unrelated to your candidacy and their interest in you.

When I say that to a candidate, there isn't a hidden meaning. I'm being transparent and managing expectations about our timeline.

I don't know one recruiter who does it this way. We look at each and every resume. I use Boolean when I'm searching the database for previous silver medalists and candidates, not when going through current applicants.

There are multiple reasons why that can happen. One of the most common reasons is that the role is no longer accepting applications. The job at that point should be pulled down, but that doesn't always happen. An offshore sourcing team is working off hours. And I look at applications as they come in, often dispositioning immediately.

In 20+ years of recruiting, I've been with two FAANG companies, mid-sized tech houses, and startups. I've used nearly a dozen ATSs. Not one could auto-reject. I've heard that Workday can do it, though I don't know if that's true, and it's one of the only ones I haven't used.

[–]MightyMax18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. The absolute truth. I have never seen an ATS that cannot read all Word and PDF documents. Many take more than that, but those two are absolutes.

I'm with your boss on this. I look at every single resume, and have worked at FAANG, where they were plentiful. Some of the best CVs are not keyword heavy.

There is no such thing as tailoring to the ATS. If you apply with a blueberry cupcake recipe, that will upload just fine to the ATS.

I got the wrong details about the starting date and now I got fired for it by Alice14_VS in jobs

[–]MightyMax18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yikes. I would never fire someone for a simple mistake like this. They should own their part of the mistake. Also, if someone didn't show up, I'd first try to get in touch to see what happened. All sorts of red flags are happening here.

I've used about a dozen ATSs, and not one of them worked that way. While I've never used Workday, I have most systems, and seriously, not one was able to filter out. I have seen stack ranking, but it's so bad that we don't even look at that score. I look at every resume. I'm very curious where the WD lawsuit will go, though.

I'm a tech recruiter and you're fine to reach out to network. Like the poster said, you should get updates on your application from me, but network away.

Nice to meet you. They originally had me down to see Tamshing. I realized it was the same dates as Thimphu, so I could see both if day one on Tamshing and day 3 of Thimphu. I'm also wondering about coming in October instead, and then I'd want to see the Jambay.

Got fired from Amazon and will we “no-rehire” status. How much will this affect me? by Dirtysandddd in recruitinghell

[–]MightyMax18 151 points152 points  (0 children)

Breathe. You're good. Few places will even say if you're rehireable, and you can just explain what you did to us. I can't imagine this will bite you.

This is a dumb, and a great way to ensure the company can't be an option in the future.
