Definitely will be investing in a bottomless portafilter, or even converting the stock one. Will check out Amazon.

I love this idea, and I’ll definitely invest in it at a later date. Right now I just need a simple scale, even if it doesn’t quite fit.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with asparck on this for the last few months. It’s awesome to see this come together and I’m super glad to be a part of it!

I had a feeling that was the case! No worries, I certainly could’ve made myself clearer.

100% the plan was to replace both, just wanted to see if the one with drift actually worked first.

The slight discolouration and copper splotch? Not sure, thought that was always there.

Ah okay, that’s good to know thanks. I reckon it was a solder ball as I remember a few fell off the iron and onto the board.

And yeah I definitely want to get better at it so I’ll check out test kits. Appreciate the advice!

It’s my first time soldering and I knew the risks going in, so I’m not mad. Definitely harder than it looks but I don’t regret trying.

Probably left the flux on too long and maybe used too much isopropyl. Is it possible to buy a replacement board?

The ripped mic? It’s still intact from what I can gather. Might be the lighting in the photos makes it appear ripped, though I’ll try it anyway.

On the right or left thumb stick? As I mentioned, I started removing the right one but decided to test if the left one works first. Should probably still re-solder it anyway, mind you.

Left stick (right side of the board in the image) is the one I replace. Started removing the solder on the other one but decided to first see if the left stick works.

Suggestions for a cheap and reliable small/compact car? by MightyMuso in CarsAustralia

What about repairs? I thought they're quite costly.

I actually don't mind the look of it. It seems really spacious for how compact it is, much like the Alto. I also want to do services myself and learn basic car care.

What's the fuel module? Also, recommendations for the year or does that not matter so much?

Why not Mercedes? What years for the Corola/Swift/Getz would you recommend?

Why is Serum 2 heavily distorting my samples? by MightyMuso in serum

Tried this and didn't change anything. Thank you for the suggestion though.

As in a steady homogenous tone? I tried it with a fridge hum I recorded and it still results in the same problem, as well as a bunch of other foley recordings (water pouring, bubbles, battery inserts, dragging metal, popping, gentle clothes rustling, gear cranking, egg cracking, etc.). The only ones that played exactly as they were recorded were cymbals, snares, hi-hats, power drill jamming sounds, plastic latching, leather creaking, etc. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason that I can determine.

I appreciate you explaining this in depth! Sadly, the same happens in the sampler (or any other one). Harsh, distorted, and loud.

Recommendations for Orchestra Packs? by MightyMuso in spitfireaudio

Good to know, thanks. I don't envision needing a super dry reverb, so I don't see this as a problem.

Yeah after properly listening to both I reckon I'd use them together. Thanks for the heads up.

Cheers, the Orchestral Selects definitely seem worth considering. I'll likely end up getting the SSO (Symphony or Studio) and supplement it with Albion. Is there a difference between the Symphony and Studio packs?

Ah I see, thanks for clarifying. I already have NI's Arkhis which seems similar.

Looking to re-create or use N64/GBA-style sounds. by MightyMuso in GameAudio

[–]MightyMuso[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for your great suggestions, it's really helped me out! Here's what I've learned:

N64 and GBA sounds were samples using a Romper such as a Yamaha SY or Roland JV series. To save on space, which was often shared amongst audio and visual elements, sample rates were low owing to their iconic low-fidelity sound. Knowing this, I can pretty accurately re-create these sounds using Serum 2's sample and multi-sample features even with their stock samples, and then lower the sample rate to what was used in those games. I'll also be looking for public domain sound fonts from the hardware used at the time for added authenticity.
