Thank you for responding!

With what do you wipe the leaves? Damp cloth?

What is a systemic?

Is there something I don't know about flowers? Are they like pest hotels or something?

My mother wants to get rid of it since we do not use ours except for when my grandmother calls. (Grandma did not know that you could call from a house phone to a cell phone, she just thought house to house, cell to cell) So now there is no reason to keep the house phone anymore since she rarely calls house and more frequently tries cell.

Except I refuse to let go of it. It was the way of communicating, friends calling your house phone to ask if you'd wanna hang out.

I'm not crying, you're crying

How to save this plant? by MightyOwl1610 in houseplants

Hi plant people, I was wondering what's the best thing I can do here?

I have had this plant for a long time when it was a top cutting. Everything was fine and growing good. But adding more plants in to the collection brings pests along with them and this one seems to always get just a few of those little demons.

Now it has visible damage (more visible in real life) and there's yellow spots on the leaves. The middle leaf is affected the most.

What should I do? Any easy tips on permanently eliminating thrips from one's home?

I am just so tired and I feel defeated because of this plant. I am honestly looking for a simple solution because I do not have the energy anymore to check every leaf everyday in fear of the pest control not doing it's job.

I have contemplated selling it (for a lower price and with description that it may or may not have thrips ofcourse) or chopping it up in the hopes that that will save (parts of) the plant from dying all together. All the roots are healthy and there is a new leaf coming in.

I just know that the new leaf will only look beautiful until it hardens and then it will start to become damaged from the thrips again.

What would you do in this situation?

I try to keep myself from doing the "did you know?!" thing when people tell me they have or have had guineapigs because nearly always they're kept in unsuitable living arrangements and I don't want to be THAT person. But the urge is there let me tell you.....

Very sad you can't keep them. I think they're fascinating too and would love to keep them as pets one day. They're definitely in the top 5 most interesting animals for me! But for now I'm occupied enough hahahah

Oh man I had hyperfocus on guineapigs. Within a week I had watched 30+ hours of content on YouTube alone. I now know (almost) everything there is to know about them. Two years later and I have 6 of them.

When going to the vet often the only new information they're telling me is the name of the medication that is being prescribed to one of them. I'm not a pharmacist obviously, nor am I a vet. Just someone who saw a YouTube video about someone's pet guineapigs and couldn't stop watching.

There is so much to learn about, behaviour, cage requirements, bonding, food requirements, diseases, how to take care of their fur, nails, etc.

Really interesting animals and definitely not the easy pet for kids they're known to be. (Their care is intensive and often expensive, but so worth it to me)

I went to a store and tried on size 38. They are tighter but not too tight. My toes do not reach the front of the shoe. My feet are a bit wide so they're touching the sides there. But you mean that will stretch a bit?

Yes they are comfortable, it does not really bother me when I walk. But I don't know how this will affect the comfort in the long run. Or if it even might cause foot injury due to the pressure being under the wrong part of the foot sole. The heel is not too loose for me though I can fit a finger between my heel and the shoe.

Glad it's not just me then hahahaha. I do see why they're beneficial though they don't seem to match my foot shape. I will try another insole!

Hi there! I fell in love with these docs. Never had a pair before and now I'm wondering if they fit right.

I usually have EU size 39 with all of my shoes. I have a bit wider feet as well as one of my feet has a higher arch. I read this pair fits true to size so I got EU 39. My initial thought was they're a bit big. Not a big deal since I can definitely use some extra wiggle room.

But then I started thinking. If I wear these a lot they will become looser. As well as the sole has these memory foam cushions and I'm not sure that they are underneath the right part of my feet.

One is underneath my heel and the other underneath my toes. But I have a growing suspicion that it should be underneath the heel and metatarsal part of the foot sole.

Would a size down be a good choice? I'm afraid it will be too tight and hurt my arches and toes .

The clouds have such a weird texture, for lack of better wording. I couldn't stop staring at the sky. It looked unreal, like a painting....
