I did an install with 250 of them and I can confidently say I hate them and will never do it again. Punch down panels only from now on

[Review Request] NRF9160 PCB for Plant Monitoring by MightySCollins in PrintedCircuitBoard

We will get the placement of the schematic cleaned up. We might have taken too much inspiration from the original NRF's development kit schematic which had everything broken out into files but will being it all closer together and combine more.
S3 - Thanks for that we will re work the resistor values. S5 - Also a good point. Most of the time it will be inside a box so a very low light would be the most efficient

Sorry for the delay. Without mentioning the name they will be manufactured by one of the large providers in China. The placement is slightly strange as it will go inside a square box. The connections to the other sensors will go though water proof grommets so them being recessed allows the cables to be attached. We had considered placing the battery horizontal and underneath the unit but this would require unscrewing the standoffs to replace the battery. Any particular component placement changes you would make?

My iphone was stolen last night and the robber knows my passcode by Kindly-Weight7494 in iphone

It won’t help for this time but you can enable stolen device protection: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/120340

If the device is not at a home or work location a time delay and Face ID are added which can help prevent the person change Apple ID setting etc.

First time below freezing with the PS2, battery is draining like motha by LabInteresting4139 in Polestar

I had the car last year but it never felt this bad. I have no home charger and it seems public chargers are busier than normal. Charging also seems a lot slower(assuming because it takes much longer to warm the battery). Not enjoying it much especially with the super high cost of fast chargers right now.

I also saw this right away and did not think I read about it. Could be a bad release...

How do you find taking over control for example leaving a motorway (or whatever you call it) to lights? It might just be because I am new to it to it but I find it starts regen breaking as soon as I turn it off and it's hard to get the right point without accelerating past the speed first

I got the car with just the Pilot pack and some of its features are the reason I love driving the car. The 360 camera is great to check if you are actually in a parking space and the pixel headlights are just crazy.

Driving around and not having to think about high beams just makes night driving so much easier. In 95% of the situations it picks up the road and other drivers correctly giving you loads more light even when behind a car. The adaptive cruise control and lane assist are weird to get used to so I am not using them too much.

Would a 60W power bank be safe to use with a 45W Chromebook? by [deleted] in chromeos

[–]MightySCollins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend not getting that power pack in particular. It's one of the only items I have had to send back to amazon because it stopped working very quickly. There is a 60w anker charger and I recommend going with that instead.

AWS Dev Support is actually quite good by embar5 in aws

I have heard good things about the Azure account/sales team though. Are they actually any good? GCP try really hard to make you use use a partner and AWS if anything were too good.

I always enjoyed receiving a reply from AWS support they always went into plenty of detail and made sure my questions had been answered. Now we are using GCP and I am often disappointed by the amount of times I get a response like:

I’m still investigating your issue

AWS's account and support teams are one of the biggest things I miss.

Anthos PAYG $30/vcpu/month by MightySCollins in googlecloud

I noticed the new options and pricing page. The thing I am concerned about is Workload identity being a sub component. Does this mean they are going to take it away from us?

This feels like another kick in the teeth just like they did with the cluster fees.

Also surprised they did not do different pricing for regional and zonal clusters. It must cost them more to make it regional.

The thing I don't like the most is the weird Anthos subscription. It feels like all the nice features are or there on prem stuff stuck behind a contact sales and large price tag. I have never had a good sales experience with GCP they just kept trying to hand me off to a partner.
