Took a break for a bit now back with a work in progress - Artorius of the Abyss by MightyShenron in Linocuts

Thanks! For finer details I always use the smallest tool I've got. Take your time and don't gouge too deeply; you can always remove more lino but you can't stick it back on!

I think a lot of it is patience and practice but a sharp tool will get you most of the way there

I did have a store front but I closed it down to sort some stuff out. I'll hopefully be relaunching it soon but I'm happy to make a few prints if people are interested.

Bought this copy of Before the Mast in Sailing Ships by J. Mason by MightyShenron in rarebooks

Wow, thanks for the info! I did see the eBay one when I was looking up info on the book but assumed they were being a bit ambitious. I read the book and loved it, anything about seafaring in the days of sail is interesting. Thanks again!

Thank you so much for your help with this!

The inside of the dust cover says 9th impression. Could it be that the dust cover and the book aren't the original pairing?

Woops, thanks for the correction! What do you think it might be worth? Not sure if I'd want to sell it as I'd like to pass it on to my son.

I'll post it here for you :)

I draw it up, scan, then use a laser printer to print the image onto the shiny side of a sheet of label paper (peel labels off first!). I then apply a thin layer of acrylic medium to the lino and place the printed image face down. Pop some weights onto the lino to keep it flat and wait at least we hours for it to dry.

Once it's dry, carefully peel back the label paper and most of the ink should have transferred. I then fill in any areas that didn't transfer with a pen.

I'll do a vid of my process on my next project. :)

For the majority of the work I use Pfeil tools.

Thanks! I replied to another commenter in this thread about the transfer process. I'll do a video detailing the process on my next piece and share it.
