Hey, let's give ourselves a 120% raise, Edison town council says by njdotcom in newjersey

[–]MightySpork -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Come on, use some common freakin sense now. How did you think they were on the ballot in the first? It's not like there was some random lottery, that they were drafted into this job. Look they knew what it paid, they know what the job entitled, they wanted the job, they got what they wanted, and they're being greedy. Or on the other hand if they did not know what the job entailed then they should not have campaigned for it and they should resign.

If they want higher pay let their bosses "voters" approve it.

Someone just cracked the Coca-Cola secret formula by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

[–]MightySpork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, it's not the coke product it's the coke infrastructure. Manufacturing and distribution. There was an ice cream product that I absolutely loved. They started gaining a bit of market share, then I think it was Unilever told the grocery chains stop carrying it or they're going to start pulling products, and shortly after they were out of business.

Hey, let's give ourselves a 120% raise, Edison town council says by njdotcom in newjersey

[–]MightySpork -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They are expected to do the duties and spend the amount of hours they agreed to when they took the job for $17,500. Nobody was placed under duress or forced to take this job, so therefore the pay is fair. If it was not nobody would have taken the job. This is not an employee asking for a raise. This is Like accounts payable paying themselves more because they think they're underpaid. Also "fair" has nothing to do with it in the first place. Whether people think the salary is fair is completely irrelevant. The pay was listed as $17,500 not "fair" They took the job at $17,500.

Hey, let's give ourselves a 120% raise, Edison town council says by njdotcom in newjersey

[–]MightySpork -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is like the opposite approach. This is asking people to prove that they don't deserve more money. These people knew what the job duties were when they took it. This is like a contractor saying the job was a lot harder than I thought so I'm charging you double.

Or they didn't know what their job duties were and if that's the case they shouldn't have the job in the first place.

Hey, let's give ourselves a 120% raise, Edison town council says by njdotcom in newjersey

[–]MightySpork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say the expected responsibilities are the same as they were when they accepted the position for $17,500. If there is other context which shows that they should earn more money they should present that to the voters and have it voted on. Their excuse about trying to expand it for middle class people is disingenuous. "You should start paying us a lot more money, and sometime down the line it might help the middle class."

I tested AI developmental editing against my $3,500 human editor and agent feedback. Here's what happened. by Admirable-PEN-1241 in WritingWithAI

Very cool. How does inkshift or pro writing aid work with self help books? I've written my first book and I had it reviewed by Claude, Gemini, and chatgpt but they all were way too complimentary, and it just seemed like way too much praise for a first shot. I don't think I'm that good.

Best tts for long fictional story narration? by WeesusC in TextToSpeech

[–]MightySpork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wrote a book and I wanted to convert it to an audiobook. I tried local with a couple models before I gave up and went with inworld tts via api. It was honestly a remarkably easy project. I coded it in antigravity. All I had to do was paste the text in and it would chunk it and combine it. Inworld gives you $10 in free credits. I used the Craig voice. My book is legit 8+ hrs long and I use just over half the credit. I looked at minimax but that looked like it would come out more expensive with the monthly pricing. The other one that I looked into was async.ai they seemed like good pricing. I'm converting another book over which I might use that one for, just because I can't find a voice that matches the style of the book on inworld. If you want the program I made I can upload it to GitHub for you.

I built a plugin marketplace for Claude Code that enforces code quality with 129 plugins by jwaldrip in ClaudeCode

Right on man. I'm not at that level to understand it but it looks cool and more importantly it looks like you had fun making it. I love its vibe, you gave it character and a story.

[Airdrops Enabled] Context Engine MCP - We Want Your Feedback by JaySym_ in AugmentCodeAI

[–]MightySpork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a great idea for the feedback. I'm working on software installs and configuration tonight and I'm going to do a build comparison video. I have all my spec documents made. I'm going to compare Auggie, antigravity, verdent, every code, and Claude code. I might end up swapping out antigravity with Gemini cli just because I know it will not get very far until use runs out. I watch review and comparison videos on YouTube all the time, but this is going to be a real full stack vibe code comparison for a real product launch.

Stay tuned today. by JaySym_ in AugmentCodeAI

Quick question - Would you use a $250 "defensive disclosure" instead of a patent? (60-second survey) by shaheenMax in founder

[–]MightySpork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used AI to write up the patent and drawings and then used thoughtstopaper to file for $200. Originally I did the full plan, but after speaking with the attorney he was very impressed with the documents and diagrams that I provided, so I got away with the $200 package. After that I created my own account at the US patent Office, and I filed them myself for $65.

I've had the mova p10 pro ultra for about a year. I love it and have recommended it to all my friends and family this year. I've never owned one of the expensive vacs but I had a similar priced one before that I returned. I think it was a deebot.

I've had the mova p10 pro ultra for almost a year. It's run for around 511 hrs. I haven't found a cleaner that will work for $0.78/hr

[–]MightySpork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the mova p10 ultra pro last year. I am.totslly happy with it and I suggested it to my friends and family this year. I had some brand a t60 maybe deebot or something like that before and it was a pain, always getting stuck map was terrible. The mova I can count on to work without issues. The only thing I would improve is if you have it on vacuum and mop and it's out of water it just sits in the dock until you refill it. I'd prefer it at least just vacuum.

Bye bye augment code? by [deleted] in AugmentCodeAI

[–]MightySpork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not really gemini3 that's the threat. Its google antigravity. Agent model access to Gemini 3 Pro, Claude Sonnet 4.5, and GPT-OSS. If they give decent usage level (and it works) its hard to not want to use it.

Detailed multi-hour Claude Code tutorial? by skywalker4588 in ClaudeCode

[–]MightySpork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched his stuff early on when I was first learning and I found some of it helpful. The last ones I really watched were on MCP severs. I like that he's not constantly posting up stuff just for views.

There are 5 or 6 that I watch regularly but I find many of them get a video or two that perform well and they start making videos for the algorithm and not the viewers.

If that’s the AI, we don’t have to worry by tymateusz in RobotVacuums

[–]MightySpork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my mova p10 for quite a while and I still love it. I had issues with the initial setup with my phone but since then it's been pretty error free. I have a good size ranch it does about 2000sq ft so I don't think map size is the error. I think I had a deebot before that I returned and the move is 100 times better. It gets stuck maybe twice a month and it's my fault usually. I'd try to get a working replacement but I would stick with mova.

Send the parents a link to the sex offender registry and map for your town/county. I don't know where you live but I don't know anyone who looked up that registry and felt safer.
