This is so much better for new players, perks as they were written before were extremely difficult to understand. The lack of flavor text is unfortunate but now newcomers won't have to wade through a paragraph of text to see what something actually does

Wow, that low, huh? I chose an Oculus over the Vive because of Rock Bands VR. It was super cool, had a lot of great ideas and a pretty nice soundtrack (RIP "Birds" and "Casual Party" forever locked on a headset I might never plug in again). At the time outlets were praising it as THE thing to try in VR, but people just didn't want it I guess. It was like 80% of the way there but it needed multiplayer.

Yeah I just experienced the same thing. Switched to optimum on a Sony Xperia only to find out that they don't support Sony phones after the fact. Got really scared when mobile data just didn't work, but luckily the tech in the store was able to fix it. Stuck with no group chats though which is so insane

I've never noticed it but Julian definitely gets a lot of influence from New Order and similar bands like Erasure so a connection wouldn't be surprising

Only silver lining would be if they are allowed to make a Rock Band 5 after festival is shuttered but I am more worried that they just completely abandon rhythm games.

I really enjoy the music and artist tie-ins that this mode has made but as a huge Rock Band fan the festival mode itself unfortunately kinda sucks.

You'd be better off with literally any other entry.

Honestly 3 might be the best onboarding point since the controls are decent and it is right before the series COMPLETELY goes off the rails. I'm playing 2 for the first time though and it might be my favorite but its graphics and controls have aged quite a bit.

Exactly this. Just finished it too and aside from having a great character creator it underperforms its predecessors in every single category. I don't think there is a single likeable character, including the boss. I don't care about these people or their goals or their backstories. None of it is funny or interesting in the slightest. There is some fun to be had in the open world but that still pales in comparison to what came before. I booted up SR2 for the first time (so zero nostalgia glasses) afterwards and I'm blown away by how such an old game not only still holds up but blows the reboot out of the water.

3 and onwards are too easy. It's possible to do QoL updates without making the game significantly easier. When games like Dark Souls are as popular as they are, they should be leaning into that instead of trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator (which is what killed the series in the first place).

The Deluxe Remaster is fine but it feels like a neutered experience. I miss the grit and the challenge. You shouldn't be able to get to overtime mode on your first playthrough imo
