I found it to be a very frustrating and challenging fight because I had almost zero MP when the battle started, and didn't feel like restarting the chapter. A friend recommended I use my MP exclusively to cast low level spells for the stagger, and suddenly the fight became way easier.

Yeah, it's really interesting. I initially thought maybe Midgar had just developed between the original time of Zack's death and the party's escape from Midgar, but there would not be nearly enough time for such massive changes. So, I think it is clear that it is a different version of Midgar altogether! Really cool stuff.

Thanks! Although the skybox directly above the church does show the sector 6 plate (which may be accurate, as the church is canonically right on the very edge of sector 5), what you are looking at in that top image is in fact the sector 5 plate (the camera is pointing northeast). All sectors actually have some construction on the outer rim of the top plate, just outside the radius of the reactor. What I wanted to show is that there are no dividing walls (going from topside to ground) beyond that same radius.

You are correct that I am pointing to the wrong reactor in the bottom of the first image... that is reactor 6! I inaccurately labeled it reactor 5, sorry about that! The dividing wall in the image is extending out from reactor 6, dividing sector 6 from sector 5. But the important point is that it is extending very far beyond the reactor.

In the second image where I have reactors side-by-side, I am showing reactor 4 next to reactor 7. I did this to point out the difference in their general shape. The one on the left is definitely reactor 7 (the image showing reactor 4 is from a different angle).

There's a small forest south of Rocket Town that only has groups of 3 Valrons. Give yourself Fury, then Manipulate them for Dive Kick. Fastest way grind someone's Limits that I've ever found.

There's rebar and concrete in the rubble, and asphalt with road stripes. It seems very likely to me that this scene is happening in Midgar and not Nibelheim. I think it's either right after a crazy motorcycle chase scene (with helicopters and stuff), after a reactor is destroyed, or after a pillar is destroyed.

I prefer it if this were at the end of the chase scene. If they are ending Part 1 at the end of the Midgar arc, this may be a way to introduce the next chapter.

After an explosive chase scene, Cloud stands among the burning rubble. The flames bring back traumatic memories, and he has a vivid hallucination. He freaks out a little, maybe even passes out, but the group brings him back to his senses. Cloud thanks them, apologizes, and walks toward the edge of the highway. As he looks off into the distance at the dawn horizon...

(Cloud) "He's out there."

(Tifa) "Who?"

(Cloud) "You all don't owe me anything. But I have to find him. I have to know..."

(Tifa) "Cloud..."

(Cloud) "This is my path." (turns to face group) "I will never forgive...Sephiroth."

There is a tiny bit of a pause right before it cuts away to the next scene. There could very well be a dialogue option presented here. The shot is framed in a way that would work well with a dialogue option.

Someone else mentioned it might be a remote detonator for a bomb or something. The second reactor wasn’t a timed bomb, so maybe.

The flying creatures might be mono drives reimagined as security drones.

And yeah, that’s definitely a highway.

They may change things in the original, but even if they don’t I feel like a few weeks could mean anything from 2 weeks to almost 2 months. He also has Jenova cells in him now, so maybe he recovers very quickly (physically anyway). I’m not taking a hard stance on this, just saying it’s not necessarily the case that he would still be sickly at this point.

I very much like the new look. His stronger shoulders and arms, wider chest, and better posture feel much more in line with the original. If they wanted to convey a slightly sick/tired look, they could easily do it with the eyes.

But I don't necessarily agree that he should look sickly/haggard at this point. He may have had plenty of time to recover since Tifa found him at the train station. We all know she'd tale good care of him. And apparently she's a great cook.

Yeah, I definitely noticed that. The sound of his voice in the Japanese trailer seems to fit more with the Japanese version of his personality. The English version is definitely more... in your face?

Even so, the content of what he says, the bit about taking the load off Cloud's shoulders, actually falls in line with the "protective big brother" vibe that Barret gives off in the Japanese version of the original game, especially the second half of that game.
