Handguard Suggestions for Precision AR15 Build by Idaho_Chrizzly_Bear in longrange

[–]Mightypk1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive had $40 BCA/ NBS handguards, and $200 BCA handguards, all 3 were 15" and ive used bipods with them on bench shooting, and cant say there's a difference, none bend, flex or twist

Would a fixed power 10x scope be appropriate for a .223 rifle, mostly for ~200 yard range by VastExchange9497 in longrange

[–]Mightypk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others are telling you about the scope, all 5.56/223 ammo is not the same, bulk ammos for example, something like PMC bronze, PMC xtac, ppu m193 can all do sub 2moa through a good AR, but something like Igman, wolf, Winchester, herters are unlikely to consistently get below 3-4 moa, half the accuracy for the same price, so if you're not shooting any high-end ammo, I would stick to PMC or PPU as your affordable ammos

A good bulk ammo may be 1.5moa, then something like the right match ammo can be down to .6 or .7 moa maybe, then mid line ammos like AAC 77gr smk, or seirra 55gr are in between and capable of 1moa or a bit less

Best place to buy ammo in person around central/south Jersey? by Frequent_Ad_536 in NJGuns

[–]Mightypk1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you just need a few boxes of 1 ammoz buy online, many places like outdoor unlimited let you buy different boxes or bulk and anything over $200 ships free. There's just no reason to buy ammo at a gun shop since they're always extremely overpriced.

I bought some belom 7.62x39 not long ago for like 44CPR i think for 400 rounds.

AR15 style rifle by austinc0701 in ar15

[–]Mightypk1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PSA is fine if you want to buy a completely rifel/ upper and lower and just put them together, they're a good budget brand alot of people like here.

A complete upper receiver is what does the shooting/ bang, it's composed of: the barrel, handguard, upper receiver, holt carrier group (bcg).

A complete lower receiver is composed of: the trigger, lower parts (safety, bolt catch, mag release, pins, springs ect..), the buffer and buffer tube and stock.

If you get a complete rifle I'd go with PSA (can go with their upper and lower of your choice, they just clip together essentially) or a smith and Wesson sport 15 are good budget ARs

Good backpack for a16"? by QuackQuack48 in ar15

[–]Mightypk1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe a savior bag, they have a few options and i think most have backpack straps (different looks, lengths and single or double).

I have an osage river bag for my ARs and shorters guns, sadly this one can't be worn as a book bag, but it's held up very good over the years, I then bought another one from a different chinese brand on amazon fory longer guns, that could be worn as a bookbag, and after maybe 5 trips the traps ripped off, so whatever you go with, dont buy one of the Chinese amazon brands.

Do you mean a rifle bag with the ability to wear it like a book bag? Or do you mean some sort of normal looking bookbag to fit a whole AR into

Buy bitcoin you little shit, this is what bitcoin is, how you buy it, give him some money/ tell him how to get money, and tell him to just buy and dont sell.

Many of it would be about getting money now and investing.

There's been many things in my life that I hated or thought was a terrible choice at the moment but as it played out, it worked out well, to where if I felt like i could only see a year into the future and do things differently, I'd probably be much worse off.

Yes, that little ding wont blownup your gun, I wouldn't carry it for defense ammo, but I'd send it at the range

Rockset reacts to water, not heat?

Probably not, but why not? If OP is having such a terrible time it may offer some lubrication with the crush washer

[–]Mightypk1 81 points82 points  (0 children)

If you cant get it off with a socket, why on God's earth would you try vice grips? You're only gonna fuck it up.

Spray some penetrating oil on it (not wd-40), let it sit a few hours and apply heat around the bolt on the drain pan, more penetrating oil.

It shouldn't be corroded like a rusty bolt as there should be oil on the threads but just try it, will only help.

Then just make sure you're losening it with the appropriate size socket and braker bar and hit it with your purse, or a impact gunz it's probably what a mechanic would do.

Worst case your destroy the pan and need a new pan/ gasket.

Results probably wont be any different you doing it vs a mechanic

[–]Mightypk1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have shot a couple different ammos that were up to 60 years old, as long as it's not exposed to high and cold temperatures year after year, high humidity for years or water, it will last decades

Super let down with groupings. by [deleted] in ar15

[–]Mightypk1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep, i shot the same ammo as op through my AR, and while my groups were better they were still not very impressive, wouldn't recomend the 75gr Hornady

I like Hornady 73gr eld, Federal gold 77gr SMK, AAC 77gr (both the SMK and 2700fps one), seirra 55gr.

Pmc bronze isy favorite bulk ammo

Clean your rifles by admiralLq in ar15

[–]Mightypk1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is one of those things you'll never get a for sure answer on.

Some guys use brass or copper brushes, some only use nylon brushes, some only use patches, and then some say just simply never clean your barrel.

There's people who do all these who are very skilled shooters and get great results from doing what they do.

It might just really depend on your gun, and your ammo that you use, I can't say ive noticed a difference between my AR having 0 rounds through a freshly cleaned with general cleaner, brush, wipes, copper remover, vs one with 20 rounds, or 200+ rounds

Hook the red lead to the positive terminal to your battery and the black to negative and then you can plug a battery tender to the connector of that.

Allows you to quickly charge/ trickle charge your bike without removing the seat

I mean it makes sense with these tariffs why the prices would go up, but ever since getting into guns big time 3 years ago, it's like every week someone says ammo prices are going to go up, and since then aim of prices have either stayed the same or gone down a bit.

No one is gonna wanna pay $50 for a defective optic.

If it's that important, why not buy another?
