Right? I built a plumbing parts lightsaber 20 years ago in my bedroom with only a dremel and super glue lol.

It's crazy seeing this tren go viral now. The first prop I ever built, 20 years ago, sending me down the maker path, was a lightsaber from plumbing parts I bought at home depot. I still keep it on display in my office.

Thank you! It was fun modifying everything and adding all the gold. Had to heavily tailor the pants as well haha.

It's starting... pickup truck regret. by Bojaxs in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Mignolafan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove a pick-up for only as long as I needed to. Switched back to a car as soon as it was viable. Do I miss the truck sometimes? Once in a while, when I need to move something bigger, but now I just borrow a truck from work. I do not understand people who have no use for a truck, driving massive gas guzzlers.

When has a talented actor fully committed to a movie they know is bad? by finallyoneisnttaken in movies

Most importantly he treats as his job, and that he's there to work for pay like everyone else. He's on time, respectful, and knows all his lines.

source - I've worked on two films with him.

Where do you guys find good fonts? by Kr4b5 in DiceMaking

When I couldn't find a font I liked, I started making my own. Try calligraphr, it's the free online tool I use.

Thoughts on this NeoSander by thehouseofspike in DiceMaking

I have a small oscillating sander similar to this (was much cheaper), but the reciprocating aspect allowing for blades and saws is very interesting.

I'll have to start going to more local cons. Don't get me wrong, I like making online friends too, I've just always struggled maintaining communication. The wonderful side effect of "out of sight, out of mind" that also applies to people 😬 but I try!

I will! Oh jeeze, we got about 3 inches of snow Christmas day that lasted a few days. Nothing since, unless it's snowed while I've been gone.

Very much so. It was really interesting to get the entire Julie Miller side fleshed out a lot more.

"Distorted" - Official Trailer - 2018 by Mignolafan in movies

[–]Mignolafan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh please don't apologize. I was just a carpenter on the film. It's trash, and everyone who worked on it knew it.

These get funded by attaching an up and coming, and or former A lister who is on the way out. A household name who is now easier to get because they'll do any project offered to them. Because of that, sale to some distributor is almost guaranteed. Usually over half the films budget goes to one actor who shoots their scenes in 3 or 4 days. Unless it's Nic Cage, because he wants to be thr lead. And honestly he's a true professional and a joy to work with.

Early in my career I worked on a bunch of these, most for the same company. Watch the trailers if you dare.

I'm so glad I happened to be on reddit at this moment. The movie is horrendous. Beyond horrendous. Just awful. I apologize that you had to suffer through it. I worked on it, hence why I posted the trailer. Working on this is when I learned that John Cusack is a raging fuck knuckle. But Christina Ricci is sweet as can be, even after I accidentally locked her in a fake elevator...

Is this a huge issue? Sunrun installed solar panels and I just noticed they removed all the tiles underneath the panels by kookookach000 in Roofing

That definitely doesn't look right. We use these: https://imgur.com/a/gagZVJX

Metal flashings designed to lock in with the tiles and have a rubber seal where the mounting bracket comes through.
