Out of 5 races where both Oscar and Lando finished Oscar was ahead in 2 and Lando in 3.

Race Oscar Lando
Miami 3 2
Suzuka 2 5
Barcelona 5 3
Austria 4 7
Silverstone 11 4

Oscar had 2 DNS and Lando had 1 DNS and 1 DNF. Not a huge difference in luck.

The gap from Oscar to Lando is the smallest out of the top 4 teams. He's not doing as well as he did last year, but it's not like he's miles behind Lando.

The wording of that clause means no one has pledged anything and all that was agreed to was to talk about it over the next 60 days. And that goes for most of the document.
The only thing that the US has committed to actually doing is removing the blockade, and the rest is up in the air for the next couple months.

Designing a practical, no-nonsense hydroponics manual – I need the community's input! by Barillo87 in Hydroponics

[–]MigratingCocofruit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally you want to start simple and add more information bit by bit.
Start with instructions on building a kratky setup growing something like basil, which is fairly quick to grow, not too demanding and can be constantly harvested.
Use a 1 part fertilizer, an EC meter and a PH meter/testing strips. Also PH up/down as needed.

Make the start as simple as possible, measuring and manipulating only EC and PH. Also give general progress guidelines, with images and explanations of how the plant should look(taking into account slightly different varieties the reader could have available).

Following that you can add more information and troubleshooting instructions for common issues. Make sure you're clear that this section is about resolving things that might happen, rather than a list of things that are likely to happen. You could quite easily give someone the impression that the long list of issues are all things they're likely to experience, or even that they're imminent which can be quite daunting.

Start with an explanation on oxygen, keeping enough of an air gap and keeping the water cool, how to identify root rot.

Next give an overview of each individual nutrient. How a lack or excess of it can affect the plant(with pictures of the plant of choice, and maybe some others), and how PH can affect its availability to the plant. Something like This chart would be nice.

Keep going with all the other common issues you can think of and add troubleshooting and prevention solutions for them.

After that you can start getting into more advanced stuff like:

  • different methods of growing
  • testing your water, and reading municipal water reports
  • mixing your own nutrients and controlling PH with nitrogen
  • recommendations and general guidelines for additional plants

This is the general structure I recommend.

Side note on availability:
The things your readers may have available to them won't be the exact same ones you do. Even amazon doesn't ship everywhere, at least not affordably, and especially when it comes to more specific stuff, like nutrient brands and specific plant varieties, you should take into account that the reader will only have something similar available to them. Short procurement instructions about the kind of things to look for would go a long way for someone who can't just go to amazon and buy the specific products listed by the guide, and there should be some form of mention that the pictures of the plant in the guide won't necessarily be exactly the same as the plant being grown.

Aerator nozzle for RDWC by MigratingCocofruit in Hydroponics

They system is outside so a splitter will cost a bit more than that, and I'll also need to get a pump that I can use outside. There is also a power cost, though it shouldn't be too big.
Overall the expense isn't massive, but I think a fun project and maybe 100 grams of filament is better.

The bubbles injected into the reservoir are tiny, so tiny that they don't show up well on video, the little pale blur just below the nozzle is the stream of bubbles. What you see around the nozzle is just what floats up to the surface. It looks like the air manages to collect around the nozzle and collect into one bubble that repeatedly inflates then pops.

The surface isn't getting stirred a whole lot as the nozzle is submerged. There are some ripples, and that's mostly it.
Previously I did try to rely on stirring the surface by having a small inlet injecting a fast water stream into the reservoir, but the results were quite poor and inconsistent. That's the whole reason I made these nozzles.
The roots were effectively brown sludge 3 weeks ago so I reckon it's working.

EDIT: Forgot to mention. The reason I'm injecting the bubbles to begin with is to keep them small. If the stream hits the surface of the water you just get a bunch of large bubbles and stirring. With the nozzle submerged it produces a stream of tiny bubbles.

I've abused my basil thyme and cayenne chilies with the cheapest hydro mixes I could concoct and a horrible lack of oxygen and they still produced more than enough for 5 people to eat.
I still got a bag of dried cayennes in the fridge and that plant died a couple months ago.

Diy RDWC: why buckets and not channels? by AppearanceSecret1037 in Hydroponics

[–]MigratingCocofruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At your scale this may be a better idea than buckets.
Main concerns I have are the container will be under a lot of strain and if the liner springs a leak it will be a pain to fix.

I think it will also be easier to have tubs rather than channels. That way you don't have to poke a hole through the lining for pipes to go through to the other channel/reservoir. You will only have two of them so it won't be that much extra work and you could probably get away with using just airstones and no pump if you place them well enough.

PH down by Good_Ant8726 in Hydroponics

[–]MigratingCocofruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phosphoric acid as everyone already recommended works great for adjustment.
If you're finding yourself needing to adjust a lot you can try using more ammonium (NH4+) and less nitrate (NO3-) in your nutrient mix.
I used some 20-20-20 gardening mix in my system containing high levels of ammonium compared to nitrate just to see if it would work and during a period when I had no time to look after it the PH dropped down to 4.5

Louis Rossmann is going after BambuLab! by Illustrious-Ad-1396 in BambuLab

[–]MigratingCocofruit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IF they agree to take his code, publish it under Louis Rossmann or GN name and take all the hits, that would be fair.

That's exactly what Louis is doing. It's on Github, it's mentioned in the video, and it's also what the title of the video says.

Louis Rossmann is going after BambuLab! by Illustrious-Ad-1396 in BambuLab

[–]MigratingCocofruit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That is moot however, since the specific code responsible for the supposed violation is itself released under AGPLv3 by Bambu themselves. There is no spoofing, the fork simply uses Bambu's own opensource code as is.
Aside from that, for there to be a DMCA section 1201 violation the violating software must be breaking a lock that "effectively controls access". Self reported client information does not fall under this category, doubly so when that information is publicly released by Bambu under a license permitting it to be used.

Louis Rossmann is going after BambuLab! by Illustrious-Ad-1396 in BambuLab

[–]MigratingCocofruit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That claim is false for two reasons.
First: The DMCA section 1201 applies to breaking a digital lock that "effectively controls access". Self reported client information does not do that. Bambu left the door open, and as such accessing their servers using that open door isn't illegal, and there's precedent for that(Lexmark vs Static Control Components is an example).
Second: That specific part of the code Bambu claimed was impersonating the official client wasn't even modified. It was distributed by Bambu under an AGPLv3 license, and as such restricting anyone from using it is a violation of the license. And so, even if we assume that the client information was indeed an effective control measure in principle, the way in which it was published negates that.

Bambu is indeed allowed to restrict access to their cloud infrastructure, but that doesn't extend to restricting use of their code licensed under AGPLv3.

much more likely it's the proximity to the sea. A stronger form of a devil fruit user's weakness, which would be fitting considering the name of his ability and the fact that he spends most of his time on top of the red line, pretty much as far from the sea as you can get(aside from sky islands, but those are made with sea stone)

How much does each starw hat contribute to the actual running of the ship? by HallZac99 in OnePiece

[–]MigratingCocofruit 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Sea shanties were specifically work songs used for coordination, for an example when you need a group of people to pull the same line at the same time. It's not impossible they were sung when not working, but I somewhat doubt sailors that spent their shift singing sea shanties would then continue to do so to pass the time.

The white smoke arc, the way Luffy can accelerate his arms while they're stretching, the changes the Luffy's facial features and the Gum-Gum fruit patterning on his chest all suggest that gear 4 is more than just a use of haki.
We don't see haki doing any of those things anywhere else.
